These are the last days ampa

If you don't watch and pray
It's no doubt that you'll be caught a prey
Oh yes! That bloodthirsty enemy will in no wise spare you
For he will seek every opportunity to  tear you apart
Hmmm...

These are the last days ampa
The same days Joel prophesied about
The same days Jesus prophesied about
The same days John wrote about
We're literally living in the book of Revelation today

No wonder we have been charged to not give place to the devil
Not a single inch or foot
For he will in no wise spare you
Peter, fully aware of this, boldly cautioned, "Be sober! Be vigilant! For your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour"

Paul, in all earnestness, with the last drops from his quill, inked: "Be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might...put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the evil one."

Oh! The evil day! It comes more than once in a day!

I daresay that that day is daily in our days.

Be strong in the grace of the Lord!

Walk in the light! Look not to the right hand nor to the left!

Look unto Jesus!

Keep your eyes on Him!

For we are in the last days ampa!

The Lamb of God

They say Mary had a little lamb
They may have stumbled upon the Truth

But hey! Hear John who had no cam;
He made hay while the sun shone forth

Screaming, "Behold, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!"

At that sin washing bay, the Son showed up

They say the lion king is majestic

But hey! This King held no walking stick!

He went about doing good and healing the sick!

You may not know His power to rule

But hey! That's just because He came as a lamb!

O! The Lamb of God! That perfect sacrifice!

Who bled and died for the remission of sins!

"He was made to be sin for us, Who knew no sin that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him"

His jaws and ribs out of joint
His throat parched and lungs ruptured
As though he caught COVID
But hey! It was not '19- He split time into B.C. and A.D.

Face to face with His fiercest enemy,
He paced the length and breadth of Hell,
Mauling darkness limb by limb, for He was no mere lamb at all!

A fierce Lion had emerged, Whose roar blasted the blackness of darkness, sending saints out of captivity

After three days of seeming defeat, He had seized the keys of Death

A new breed sprang forth

With a divine mandate to show forth

The virtues and excellencies of Him who called us out of darkness into His marvellous light!

O! What a Commission!

Hey! Can you hear Him announce,
"GO YE therefore and make disciples of all nations..."?

Will you tell this Good News?

Will give yourself for the Master's Use?

They say you only live once
But hey! This is your best chance at making Heaven dance!

The Clock keeps Ticking and Tocking

The clock keeps ticking

It keeps ticking and tocking

The clock keeps ticking

It keeps ticking and tocking

Until eternity swallows time up

Oh, how it ticks and tocks in sweet rhythm

It ticks and tocks so much so that even TikTok's downloads cannot compete

The clock keeps ticking

It keeps ticking and tocking

Until eternity swallows time up

What will be the sum of your ticks and your tocks?

Seconds turning into minutes,

Minutes turning into hours,

Hours turning into days,

Days turning into weeks,

Weeks turning into months,

Months turning into years,

And you whisper, "This clock is ticking me off! Just one more nap!"

"Teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts to wisdom"

The Teacher says, "Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the evil days come"

The clock keeps ticking

It keeps ticking and tocking

Until eternity swallows time up!

What will be the sum of your ticks and your tocks?

If Motherhood were a Neighbourhood...

If Motherhood were a neighbourhood

You'd be more celebrated than the Red Riding Hood

If Motherhood were a priesthood

Your sacrifices would be more pleasing than the choicest food

Through your firm Motherhood,

You have turned our childhood to adulthood

Through your fierce Motherhood,

You have turned girlhood to womanhood

Through your fearless Motherhood,

You have turned aimless bachelorhood into profitable livelihood

Indeed, you have proved to be the greatest- for the one who serves is the greatest

And of course, your life of Motherhood entirely depicts servanthood!

When God Walked the Earth...

When God walked the earth

The vibrations of His vocal cords

Reverberated through time and eternity

Slicing time into B.C. and A.D.

What manner of Man is this?

When God walked the earth

His Presence signified joy on earth

For the signal of this Bright and Morning Star

Beamed smiles across the faces of the grief-stricken

For one aged man embraced eternal glory, having seen His cute and cuddly form

When God walked the earth

The lame walked, the blind saw, and the Gospel was preached

When God walked the earth

The hungry were filled, for He is the Bread of Life

When God walked the earth

The lost found purpose, for He is the Way

When God walked the earth

The dead were raised to life, for He is the Resurrection and the Life

When God walked the earth

He became the Son of man, that the sons of men might become the Sons of God!

She just dey be!

I encountered an immensely gorgeous lady today

Simply put, she dey be

Her skin looked as though she had only been born today

Simply put, she dey be

Her eyes were so clear that I felt like she could see through my frame of clay

Simply put, she dey be

This lady's face was radiant and glowing like the noon day

Simply put, she dey be

As I surveyed at her lovely frame, my mind was blown away

Simply put she dey be

I sat on the couch, contemplating whether or not to ask her on a date

But our eyes met and she stared into mine

There and then, I knew I was fine

For that's what happens when you encounter Revelation!

She just lights up your heart...and you're fine!

She just dey be!

The Urge to do Wrong is so Strong

The Urge to do wrong is so strong

But do you have to do wrong if you're strong?

"If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small"

But if your strength is small,

Don't fall!

Stand tall!

For that's all your duty: STAND TALL!

The Urge to do wrong may be strong

But all you gotta do is to STAND!

Stand tall, rooted and grounded firmly in Christ

Don't be moved

Always abound in the work of the Lord

When the urge to do wrong is so strong,

Look to the One who was tempted in all points yet never sinned

When the urge to do wrong is so strong,

Remember His Word: "Be not overcome of evil but overcome evil with good"

When the urge to do wrong is so strong,

Remember who you are and whose you are:

The Temple of God, bought with a price

Fresh Air

You're as a guest of fresh air

The fragrance of your Presence is Heaven to me

For you enrapture me
In such glory
In such beauty
In such bliss
In such awe
that cannot be compared at all

O, Sweet Holy Spirit!

How refreshing is your whisper

In my heart

That lush voice! 😩
So gentle
So lovely
So reassuring

Ministering peace to me

In the midst of turmoil and great tribulation

All the chaos is smouldered at the sight of your invisible aura

"The wind bloweth where it listeth"

You're as a guest of fresh air
The fragrance of your Presence is Heaven to me!

Not by might nor by power but by My Spirit

I thought to myself, “How do such mammoth crowds gather to hear the words of a man for days without food?”

Again I asked, “How is it that in three years only, He raised up ordinary men and women to carry His Message all around the world?”

Then I had to ask, “How in the world do his teachings impact you to the core of your being, lifting you from despair to heights unimagined?”

I found out that, “It is not by might, it is not by power but by My Spirit,” saith the Lord.

How were the dead raised?

How on earth do you even begin to think of walking on water, of multiplying bread and fish, of touching and healing a leper?

How do you love wicked and rebellious people who are bent on murdering you?

He says, “It is not by might, it is not by power but by My Spirit.”

How do you maintain victory over a defeated foe whose lies are smoother than oil on a duck’s back?

How do you master the elements so much so that you hush the winds at the sigh of a phrase?

Again, “It is not by might, it is not by power but by My Spirit,” He plainly declares.

How is it that the just would die for the unjust, and you would justify the ungodly, ministering the very essence of divinity into those who believe?

Oh! Surely, “It is not by might, it is not by power but by My Spirit,” the Lord says, “He that hath an ear, let Him hear.”

Blackness of Darkness

I was asphyxiated

A cardiac arrest was imminent

What was I to do now!?

Death stared me in the eye and chuckled

The blackness of darkness was thick

My heart raced a billion times faster

For the prince of the power of the air was at it again

He spread lies and deception across the airwaves

Words not comely to heed were put in songs

They were lulling many a brethren into a perpetual spiritual slumber

Words not comely to enter the heart

Were mingled with melodies

That sped fast as a dart aiming for the heart

I was asphyxiated

A cardiac arrest was imminent

What was I to do now!?

Thank God for His Word

Which keeps us unspotted, separate from the world

And its corrupting influences

Thank God for His Word

Which is light that pierces through the blackness of darkness

Clearing the air for the heavens to declare the glory of God

Thank God for His Word

Which cleanses and washes my mind

Imparting strength to my inner man

And lifting my eyes to look at that which is unseen

Intently gazing into the glass and beholding the glory of God

Thank God for His Word

Which works in me both to will and to do of His good pleasure

Enabling me to think on things which are true,

Things which are noble,

Things which are honest,

Things which are pure,

Things which are lovely,

Things which are of good report!

I was asphyxiated

A cardiac arrest was imminent

What was I to do now!?

Was I going to pass away on board public transport?!

No way!

The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death!

Finally, the suffocation ended

For I longed for the Lord more than the sentries long for the morning!

I slouched my way out of the blackness of darkness

Gasping for the clear air in the atmosphere!

Just believe!

I stood before the mighty ocean which issued forth raging billows

And I thought, "How in the world did Moses split the Red Sea in two?"

Surely, it was an impossible feat

But nothing is impossible to those who believe

Then it hit me:
Moses only believed God's Word!

That Word to stretch
His rod over the sea to divide it

Today, will you hear His Voice?

Will you believe His Word?

Will you do His Word?

The ocean may be vast
The enemy may be fast
But only God's Word will last!

Only believe!

Sweety, I love You!

Sweety, your breath is as the essence of heaven

Your whisper is as the gentle strumming of violin strings

They neither dull nor lull

But place me in utter rest!

Rest that bathes me with bubbles of joy

Rest that cradles my heart with peace

Your touch satisfies my heart

Your words lift me up

Sweety, I love you!

Without you, I am not!

Thank you for your indwelling presence!

I just wanna be HOT!

A Psalm of Consecration, Dedication & Separation

I don't wanna be cold...

No no no no

I don't wanna be lukewarm

No no no no

I just wanna be HOT!

Yes, HOT!

Full of the FIRE of the Holy Ghost

Fervent in Spirit

Walking in the Light of His Word

And piercing through the darkness

I wanna shine brightly for God

With the Truth of His Word

Walking in His Glory

Showing forth His Praise

No no no no

No more cold

No no no no

No more lukewarmness

I don't wanna be spewed

Out of the mouth of the I AM

I wanna be ONLY HOT!

Blazing HOT like the Sun

Yes, the Son of Righteousness!

Hope Instead of Mope

Here I was, going to mope

Not knowing I was on my way to give someone hope

After it all, one thing mattered:

No matter how battered,
We have this treasure in earthen vessels

The distress plummeted like missiles
O Lord! How gracious you are!

Your testimony nothing can mar!

I had in mind to go and mope
But I ended up giving someone hope!

No wonder he says, "Be instant in season and out of season!"

For Christ always remains the reason!

Hear her lush voice!

Her lush voice caressed my eardrums

They tingled and tingled till my heart jingled

Like a bell in a cemetery

The silence was broken

I was jolted out of my perpetual slumber

Awakened to the reality of newness of life

For Wisdom was all that I needed all this while

No wonder she is the principal thing

No one else compares to her

Despite their curves and bends

They do not match up to the beauty of my dearly beloved Wisdom

I can't even fathom why she chose me

I will never forget that day she called out to me with her lush voice

I was in an abyss of gloom and doom

I was totally in despair

In fact, my life was beyond repair

In essence, I was without hope, without God in the world

But she loved me anyways!

Oh! That voice! That voice! That lush voice!

That tickled my eardrums

It reverberated in my stony heart, hard as it was

All of a sudden, this stony heart became a heart of flesh!

Oh! That voice! That voice! That lush voice!

From the bottomless depths of that abyss of shame, I heard the voice calling out my name!

My name! Wisdom knew my name! Oh!

How lovely it was!

Like a vacuum cleaner, that voice sucked me out of that abyss!

And gently showed me the Way, saying, "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart! Give me your heart and let your eyes observe my ways."

She went on, "For I have loved you with an everlasting love; while you were yet a sinner, I died for you!"

My heart longingly cried after her, "How can I be in union with you when I am covered with all this mess from this abyss?!"

But she looked at me with all tenderness in her eyes and said to me, "Behold! I make all things new! Is there anything too hard for me? Come as you are! I will wash you, sanctify you and justify you!"

Today, her lush voice calls out to you, "Come to me all you who are weary and are heavy laden and I will give you rest!"

A Good Name

A Good Name
Cannot be bought
A Good Name
Cannot be sold
Unlike grace
It must be earned
A Good Name
Must be earned through
Diligence
Honesty
Discipline
Integrity
Excellence
A Good Name
Is to be preferred rather than riches
A Good Name in itself
Will bring you riches
A Good Name
Makes you a beacon of hope
A Good Name
Makes you worthy of emulation
A Good Name
Makes you an example
A Good Name
Tramples all accusations against you
A Good Name
Inspires trust all around you
A Good Name
Cannot be bought
A Good Name
Cannot be sold
Unlike grace,
A Good Name must be earned!

A god called Self

A god called Self

Wrapped its arms around me

Speaking soothing words

That tickled every atom of my body

Self made me comfy

But in the end I turned out scruffy

My heart was stained with impurity and lifelessness

Guilty and stuffy

Suffocating because of all the mess

Self is no devil

But Self became devilish when the devil bedevilled Self

With the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life

Self was awakened to the power of death

And anyone who obeyed Self became Self's slave

A god called Self

Turned me against all good

A god called Self wanted all the glory

A god called Self could not be tamed

A god called Self

Made me do what I disgusted

Dragged me to places I did not want to go

But I obeyed that god in riotous living

A god called Self could not be controlled; no! Not with will power

Not with all the world's strategies for "personal growth"

But thank God for his indescribable gift!

The gift of life through death!

A god called self was crucified with Christ

A god called self no longer lives

No longer rules

I may hear self's soothing voice,

I may feel self's warm arms around me

But in truth self is dead!

The law of the Spirit of life has made me free from the law of sin and death!

A god called self is no longer my lord!

Jesus Christ is alive and at work in me!

He is my God and my Lord!

What a god called self could not do, Jesus did!

He rose from the dead and brought to life a new creature filled with eternal life!

The very essence of God is alive in me now!

Now, I am being renewed in knowledge after the image of Him who created this new creature!

I am a new "me" with new passions, new affections, new attitudes and a new life!

What about you? Are you still a slave of self?

Turn from self and hear Jesus!

Run to Jesus Christ!

When God bled...

When God bled, the human race was cleansed

Of all sin and iniquity

When God bled disease fled

For by His stripes ye were healed

When God bled death fled

For He went to the grave and spoiled principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them

When God bled all men bled

For he died once for all

When God bled people from every nation and tongue were redeemed

From the curse and condemnation of the Law

He is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!

After God bled and death fled

A new race came on the scene: a new creature in Christ Jesus

Species, born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor the will of man but of the same God that bled!

These are those that have received eternal life by believing in the Name of Jesus Christ

For there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we may be saved

Call upon the Name of the Lord and you shall be saved!

Oh! The love of Christ!

A mighty spear was thrust into His side, releasing gushers of liquid love upon the earth...

He bore shame even though He was full of glory...

Oh the love of Christ...

How can we fathom its depth, its width, its length and its breadth...

It's grace heaped upon grace...

How gloriously it ended when He cracked open the grave, putting death itself under His feet and ascending to the right hand of the Father!

He still bears those scars as a reminder that He took it all away, for your sake!

He took all your sin away!

He took all your sickness away!

He took all your pain away!

He took all your distress away!

He took all your sorrow away!

Why is your heart still downcast?

Against hope believe in hope!

Think upon His boundless love for you!
A life that has not encountered the love of Christ is void of fulfilment, satisfaction and purpose.

There is no other Name under heaven given among men whereby we may be saved!

Call upon the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved!

Motherly Instincts

Every shepherd inherently has them

They are part of the package that comes with the anointing to steward God's people

Having that compassionate yearning to know the spiritual state of your flock...motherly instinct

Being concerned about the direction in which their lives head...motherly instinct

Experiencing and identifying with their burdens, pains and sorrows...motherly instincts

Knowing what to say to silence the turbulence...motherly instinct

Motherly instincts are so vital for every shepherd...they make you effective

Your sheep's interest is what's most important to you.

You are restless when you see them going wayward; you are full of joy when they experience success and fruitfulness

You delight in feeding them with the Word of Truth.

Motherly instincts are not learnt in the Bible School; no! They are spiritual character traits, just like the fruit of the Spirit. They must be cultivated.

Motherly instincts come from the Ultimate Source of all life, the Holy Spirit.
