"We are not waiting for pandemics to announce what we are doing to make a little show and take some pictures to impress people." -Evangelist Dag
In his address to a global audience of several thousands streaming on various Internet platforms and those listening on air and watching on television, Evangelist Dag Heward-Mills said, "We don't wait for pandemics to look for the poor...even this time, we've sent all the beggars in Accra Mobile Money...because we can't go to them. We look after them every month. We provide social services for them. We provide them with money, because what they need is money and clinic and everything for them...all the time...large numbers of these people and prisoners in Accra. We are not waiting for pandemics to announce what we are doing to make a little show and take some pictures to impress people. That is not what we need. The Church is the main thing. Have you thought of sending...people who are begging on the road side and blind...? We have assembled all of them and registered them. We have registered them ourselves as our own social services and we look after them because they are not looked after by any government. So in this time we are now sending them...because we can't do social interaction...we have sent Mobile Money to all of them. You can call them and ask them. It's not about taking pictures."

"O Lord God, I come to you just as I am- a sinner. I believe today that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. I believe that you sent Him to die on the cross to pay for my sins. And right now, I receive forgiveness for my sins by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. I ask you to wash away my sins with the blood of Jesus. I confess that Jesus is Lord of my life because I believe that you raised Him from the dead. Today, I invite Jesus Christ into my heart to be my Lord and my Saviour. Thank you for saving me. I receive eternal life into my spirit, in Jesus' Name. Amen."

Random Thoughts
When I was a teenager, our family used to live at Sakumono Estates. At the time, I was in JHS in De Youngster's on the Ring Road Central. So early every dawn, my mum would wake us up to go for our bath and get ready for school, because it was close to an hour's journey. As well, she did not want to risk us getting stuck in traffic.
I remember particularly that I liked to look out the window on my way back from school. As I looked, one thing always caught my eye which I wanted for myself along the Teshie-Nungua road.
They were crafted nicely. Some looked like Mercedes Benzes. Others looked like birds. Still others looked like varied car brands. As I looked each time, my imagination took me to the point where I'd own one of those and literally drive it one day.
I did not really know what they were. In my young teenage mind, this was the perfect vehicle designed for people my age. Looking back, I think to myself, why didn't I consider that none of those 'cars' plied the roads?
Well, one day I blurted out my yearning for that contraption and to my utter amazement, my mum disclosed the most astonishing news to me: they were coffins! Coffins that looked like cars!
All along, I was admiring something meant for the dead! I wanted something that was definitely not designed for me, for I was full of life and vigour and energy and youth and beans!
But I settled for a 'coffin car' because I did not know what it was! Brings to mind the words of Jesus to those grief-stricken women at His grave: Why are you looking for the living among the dead?
Why do we go round in circles all our lives looking at the wrong picture, obsessed by the wrong picture, consumed by the wrong picture? Ignorance!
We keep looking in the wrong place for lasting joy, for lasting peace, for lasting satisfaction.
But Jesus says, "I am the bread of life!"
In other other words, I am your satisfaction!
Oh! That you would realise that Jesus means more than the whole world! That you would recognize that Jesus is everything! You wouldn't look elsewhere for peace! You would look to Him! For by Him were all things made and for Him were all things made!
Jesus is your answer! Trust Him. Believe in Him. Live for Him!
Of course, I can't leave you without these thoughts: Guard your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life...whatsoever things are pure...whatsoever things are of good report...think on these things!
This was also a random thought!
Cheers! Just believe!

I just wanna be HOT!
A Psalm of Consecration, Dedication & Separation
I don't wanna be cold...
No no no no
I don't wanna be lukewarm
No no no no
I just wanna be HOT!
Yes, HOT!
Full of the FIRE of the Holy Ghost
Fervent in Spirit
Walking in the Light of His Word
And piercing through the darkness
I wanna shine brightly for God
With the Truth of His Word
Walking in His Glory
Showing forth His Praise
No no no no
No more cold
No no no no
No more lukewarmness
I don't wanna be spewed
Out of the mouth of the I AM
I wanna be ONLY HOT!
Blazing HOT like the Sun
Yes, the Son of Righteousness!

The Truth makes you FREE
One Sunday evening, an avalanche of disheartening, disturbing, discomfiting thoughts set me in a distraught countenance. I decided to go somewhere (not to preach somewhere) and get some air, reflect, read and have a very open conversation with the Lord about what was bothering me. If possible, I would cry my lungs out until my throat was sore and I had an assurance of my victory.
So I set off, not really knowing where I was going. But I recall telling the Lord to guide me when I was leaving home.
I got on board a bus bound for Circle- which was quite awkward considering the fact that I initially wanted to go to campus. When we got to Circle, I got off the bus and started off towards 'God knows where'.
Then came a dark short man by my side who was muttering under his breath, "I really need God in my life. If only I had a Pastor to pray for me." I thought to myself, "Did he want me to hear that?" So I responded in a mumble, "What's going on in your life?" (Mind you, at this time, our entire conversation was in Twi- which is unusual for me to flow in with strangers).
Then he began, "I hope you won't be offended if I tell you my story."
All this while, we were walking and talking.
I said, "Go ahead!"
He continued, "I just came out of prison yesterday..."
I asked him, "What took you there?"
He said, "I used to steal goats with some friends. We were caught. One of my friends was killed and I was sent to prison. I have been there for three years two months."
At this point, my mind was racing as to what solution to give this man aside Jesus. But I calmed down and motioned for us to sit down in front of a closed shop.
We sat down and then he narrated how everybody he asked for money saw him as an outcast and an opportunist. He was now realizing that what he really needed was a relationship with God, but he did not know how to begin one.
I shared the Gospel with Him and explained to him how valuable he is to God despite his past errors. I taught Him that Jesus loves him dearly and that it was not too late to identify and fulfil God's call on his life.
The 41-year old then asked, "What must I do now?"
I led him to Christ as we prayed.
Then I shared some basic truths on salvation with him. As I was sharing with him, I sensed the need to minister to him to receive the Holy Spirit. So I told him about the Holy Spirit and then we prayed. I laid my right hand on his head and spoke in other tongues. Immediately, he said, "It is coming but I can't say it." I replied, "Go ahead! Just open your mouth." The ex-convict began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave him utterance. I was amazed! I took my hand off him and watched him- he was still speaking in tongues.
He recounted what happened, saying, "I have goosebumps all over me. It's as though I have been into an air-conditioned room."
I thought to myself, "Wow! This is the refreshing Peter spoke about in the book of Acts." Hallelujah!
I have much more to share concerning his decision to follow Jesus and come to Church but I will pause here. One thing I need from you is this: please help me in prayer for the man. His name is Samuel Nyarko.
One lesson I learned after the incident is this: Look beyond yourself and you will see how needy many others are around you and lend a hand to bring them liberty.
Hope Instead of Mope
Here I was, going to mope
Not knowing I was on my way to give someone hope
After it all, one thing mattered:
No matter how battered,
We have this treasure in earthen vessels
The distress plummeted like missiles
O Lord! How gracious you are!
Your testimony nothing can mar!
I had in mind to go and mope
But I ended up giving someone hope!
No wonder he says, "Be instant in season and out of season!"
For Christ always remains the reason!

Three Highly Important Spheres of Salvation
(Ephesians 2:10, The Amplified Bible)
Starting a building project or any project for that matter begins with a plan. Building websites requires careful consideration and planning on paper. I recently saw the plan for a house on paper; it looked so detailed and had all the dimensions to the minutest inch. There is then the laying of the foundation, which requires painstaking effort. And then the building comes on top of the foundation. Finally, the owner enters the building to reside in it.
Your salvation is the most important thing in the world because God paid the highest, inestimable and incalculable price for it: the life of His Son Jesus Christ. Understanding and living out this salvation is so vital for every child of God. Salvation is first received by confessing that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9).
Looking carefully at the analogy of the building, you can identify that salvation can be seen as a building. Your salvation is God's project. That's why you are His workmanship.
I want to share with you three highly important spheres of salvation viz.:
- You have been saved
- You are being saved
- You will be saved
- The plan on paper
- The process of building
- The completion of the building
- Abstaining from sensual urges (see 1 Peter 2:11)
- Receiving the engrafted Word by going to Church (see James 1:19; Ephesians 4:11-16; 2 Corinthians 3:18)
- Renewing your mind daily with the Word (see Romans 12:2)
- Fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit through Prayer (see John 15:1-8)
- Guarding your heart and thinking on the right things (see Proverbs 4:23; Philippians 4:6-8)
- Set your mind on things above (see Colossians 3:1-5)
- Seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness first (see Matthew 6:33)

The Intercessor's Pledge: I am a Soldier
I am a soldier
A prayer warrior of the Army of God
The Lord Jesus Christ is my Commanding Officer
The Holy Bible my code of conduct
Faith, prayer and the Word are my weapons of warfare
I have been taught by the Holy Spirit,
Trained by experience,
Tried by adversity
And tested by fire
I am a volunteer in this Army and
I am enlisted for eternity
I will either retire in this Army at the rapture or die in this Army
But I will not get out, sell out, be talked out
I am faithful, capable and dependable
If my God needs me, I am there
I am a soldier, a prayer warrior
I am not a baby
I do not need to be pampered, petted, primed up, pumped up, picked up or pepped up
I am a soldier, a prayer warrior
I am in place, saluting my King, obeying His orders, praising His Name and building His Kingdom
I am a soldier, a prayer warrior
No one has to send me flowers, gifts, food, cards, candy or give me handouts
I do not need to be cuddled, cradled, cared for or catered to
I am committed
I cannot have my feelings hurt bad enough to turn around
I cannot be discouraged enough to turn me aside
I cannot lose enough to cause me to quit
When Jesus called me into this Army I had nothing
If I end with nothing, I will still come out even!
I will win!
My God will supply all my needs
I am more than a conqueror
I will always triumph
I can do all things through Christ!
I am a soldier, a prayer warrior
Devils cannot defeat me
People cannot disillusion me
Weather cannot weary me
Sickness cannot stop me
Battles cannot beat me
Money cannot buy me
Governments cannot silence me and hell cannot handle me
I am a soldier, a prayer warrior
Even death cannot destroy me
For when my Commander calls me from this battlefield, He will promote me to captain
Then bring me back to rule this world with Him
I am a soldier, a prayer warrior in this army and I'm marching, claiming victory
I will not give up
I will not turn around
I am a soldier, prayer warrior...and God has my back!

Turning the Poolside Gate into Heaven's Gate
One Saturday evening, I had a meeting at the Legon Poolside with my dear co-labourers, Ministers Emmanuel and Graham and Hylda. Upon ending our meeting, we set out to go and visit some of our sheep before going home. But, I was hesitant to leave when I saw many young people frolicking and excitedly looking into their phone screens in their swim suits. I whispered to the Lord, "Lord, we need to share the Gospel here."
The team saw my slow walking and also slowed down. They turned to me. I looked at them and said, "We need to preach the Gospel to them." They were vacillating, so we went further, but I keep sensing my heart nudging me and saying, "Why did you miss out on that opportunity?"
When we got to the gate of the poolside, we saw another myriad of young people (maybe 15-20 of them) who were gathered round a taxi, some dancing to the music, others sitting in the taxi and still other drinking whatever it was they were drinking. My concern was, "Are these people saved?" Once again, when I told the team we should minister to them, they were hesitant.
So we walked a few metres past them and then I turned around, walked straight to them and strangely the first words that came out of my lips as I approached them were, "Lift up your hands!" To date, I still can't fathom why I said that. The music was very loud. But when I said that, they all lifted up their hands. I told them that I had something important to share with them. They all turned to me and listened intently. One of them even told the "DJ" in the taxi to turn off the music so that they listen.
I preached the Gospel to them and did an altar call! It was phenomenal! Many of them lifted up their hands and prayed the prayer of salvation with us.
We gave them tracts afterwards and took their details. We asked them also take our numbers and to contact us if they needed counselling. It's amazing how we still maintain contact with some of them till date!
I am so glad that we gave Heaven a cause to rejoice that day!
Never let fear keep you from preaching the Gospel! The Word says you have not been given a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind! (2 Timothy 1:7)
...interestingly, they kept their hands up till I finished preaching!
Gloryyyyy!

Sowing the Seed of the Word
One Thursday morning, me and my faithful companion and co-labourer, Kofi Ghansah, went to Elizabeth Frances Sey Hall to have a dawn broadcast. This was my first time and I did it in response to a Word I heard from the Lord concerning doing dawn broadcasts in the Halls on Legon Campus.
Kofi has the most seraphic voice I have encountered in person. His voice reverberates with the essence of heavenly aura! So he sang and worshipped and oh! how the glory of the Lord filled the quadrangle!
So after his ministration, I began sharing from Hebrews 9:27. I said, "You don't have to die twice." It was utterly glorious as the Gospel was preached and the goodness of the Lord was experienced by the residents in their rooms!
We did an altar call but it seemed that no one came downstairs to receive the Lord; we still prayed the prayer of salvation with them!
I am so delighted that the Lord enabled us to sow the seed of the Word in that fertile ground of students' hearts!
Gloryyyyyy!!!

Capo
One Thursday evening, I went with one of our shepherds to Evandy (a private hostel in the University of Ghana) to visit a member of UGGLIC. However, the one we went to visit was not there.
When we were entering the hostel, the entrance welcomed us with five young men who were excited and talking aloud, making echoes across the entire hostel. You could hear them even from the gate of the hostel.
So, as we were leaving the hostel, I decided to engage them in a conversation to preach the Gospel to them. At first, they seemed intimidating. But it was after my interaction with them that I experienced what a wonderful group of friends they were.
When I got close to them, I began to choke at the reek of alcohol that was heavy in their midst. I now understood why they were shouting at the tops of their voices! After all, it was one of the evenings of the first week of the semester where they could while it away with some beer!
One of them even mockingly offered me some Coke.
Well, I did not address the issue of the alcohol at all. All I wanted was for them to know my precious Jesus who died for us and made it possible for us to have a personal relationship with God.
Fortunately, I had some tracts in my bag. So I reached for them to share them among these young men. I smiled at them as I handed them the tracts. I know that I looked awkward to them but something wonderful was taking place right there.
One of them read the title of the tract out loud when he received it, saying, "Satan versus Jesus Christ." Then when I was about to give the final one out to this dear gentleman, he was hesitant and almost declined. I figure that he sensed the conviction of the Holy Spirit. All this while I had not uttered a single word- I was simply smiling at each of them with eyes of love. He looked at me as he stretched out his hand to take the tract and said in Twi, "Look at my state and judge me. Should I take this tract in my state?" I was quiet. He asked the same question again and added, "I know Jesus said we should not judge but I want you to judge me." I still did not talk back.
Then I drew him aside and told him that the contents of that tract would change his life. He retorted, "Why is it that I am addressing you in Twi and you are speaking English to me? Why is your tract in English. If you go to my hometown, how will you preach the Gospel to the villagers there?"
I told him, "Well, that's why you're here. You'll be my interpreter."
He asked, "Will you take a nine-hour trip to go that far to preach to the people in my hometown?" I said, "Yes, of course. If it's only one person that gets saved as a result of that trip, Heaven will rejoice."
I asked him, "What's your name?"
He said, "Capo!"
He said, "I was destined to be a fetish priest. But I decided not to follow lesser gods because I know that their power cannot be compared to that of God in Heaven. And I am not really worshipping the God in heaven. So right now I am in the middle. I just want to take care of some things and then I will serve him."
I replied, "Capo, do you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? There is no middle ground when it comes to these matters. You need to decide that you will completely yield your life to Jesus and follow Him for good."
I had to go so I cut the message short and then I mentioned my name to him. Capo's first name was also Samuel! I was excited about that! He was asking for me to come over to his hometown to preach the Gospel. I consented and took his phone number.
I then turned to each of the others and shook hands with them, asking each one's name. Before I left them, they asked for prayer. I prayed for them and the grace of God came upon them like a flood. What a deluge it was!
Glory to God for such an awesome encounter! Through a single interaction, a whole village will be saved. One of the things that amazed me was that Capo offered to pay all expenses for the trip to his hometown. How awesome our God is!
Pray for us!

Another Love Challenge
One gloriously sunny Tuesday afternoon, I was glad and walked with joyous anticipation as I was getting ready for the second night of the Special Ministers' Conference with Pastor Benny Hinn in Ghana.
I first went to the Linguistics department after two successive lectures to write down my name for an Akan test to help one of the doctors in the department. Thankfully, I did not need to write down my name, I could simply take the test right that moment...so I took the test (which lasted about 30 minutes and earned some money after taking the test).
On my way out I met a dear lady I recognized from previous interaction through preaching the Gospel. So I asked how she was doing and she responded that she was not well. You know, people will often tell you, "I am fine." even if they were depressed. But she plainly confessed that she was not well. I asked her what the problem was. She said it was malaria. There was another lady standing next to her, so I called to her and explained to them about the prayer of agreement and we prayed the prayer of agreement. I knew that once we prayed it was settled, so I was excited with joy in my heart and gave praise to God.
As I kept on with my journey back to the hall, here comes this man smiling at me and reading the inscription on my shirt OUT LOUD, "Salvation is FREE. Come to Jesus."
I immediately recognized him from last semester, and I knew what he was up to. He wanted money. He was carrying a brown envelope and started to recount the same story he told me that day. Do you know what I did?
I stood there and gave him the sternest look I have ever given to any human being. I was not happy with the situation, not because I had to give to him, but because he was wasting his life.
I said to him, "I know you. Last year you told me this same story and now you're telling it to me again. God doesn't want you going around doing this all the time and have people ridiculing you. Please, you cannot afford to waste all the potential God has deposited in you by walking the streets constantly, begging for money."
So I offered him a job.
How?
Well, through the Herbalife programme, people, no matter their educational background, can earn money and break our of poverty.
(Let me add here that the man speaks very good English.)
The truth is that this man was already born again; he just needed to adjust his way of thinking. I told him that the moments and energy he constantly spent walking and begging could be used to sell the products and earn money legally.
I explained the entire business to him and then blessed him with the same cash I earned by taking the Akan test. Then I gave him my card to call me.
The Lord is faithful.
I have constantly confessed the Word of God, that I am a blessing. I am blessed to be a blessing.
I find that sometimes we err by making such confessions of the Word and acting contrarily, because we tend to hoard that which the Lord blesses us with and keep asking him for more. That's selfish...and it's the mentality of the poor.
Remember, "There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it ." (Proverbs 11:24-26).
I will say it again: strike up conversations with those God sends your way who beg you. You may be able to help them in ways huger than you ever imagined.
You're blessed to be a blessing to your world!

Why you need to hear from God before moving
One Saturday evening, the Lord blessed me with a rare opportunity to behold a motor accident happening right in front of me...but by His grace I was unscathed! Glory to God!
This is what happened:
I was about to cross the road at the 37 roundabout. Here came from my left a huge black pickup (the unusual kind...I think it was a Tundra).
The car was being driven at an incredibly top speed. It so happened that the driver crossed the red light at that speed.
Now, the unfortunate thing is that lights were green for cars coming from the road the goes across the Tundra's lane. And so as this Tundra was speeding, a Corolla was also taking a turn around the round about.
They collided and strangely the Tundra got more damaged than the Corolla, which was actually still on its way to its destination after the incident.
Nonetheless, the Tundra was pushed off the road over a ledge and hit some pillars that were on the ledge. The Tundra really got damaged.
How sad!
As I watched what happened, I decided not take another glance and crossed the road on my way to board a bus to campus.
The moment I got on board the bus, the Lord whispered a Scripture to me which served to show me that the accident I saw was a parable. He gave me Proverbs 19:21 which says, "There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord , that shall stand."
Here are some observations from the accident:
# The driver had gotten to crossroads. He was required to stop but he did not. How many times have you rushed into things simply because you were so excited at the thought of the seemingly beautiful future ahead that you did not consider the consequences of your decisions?
# The cars represent our destinies. The driver of the Tundra obviously had a more sophisticated car which doubtless was more expensive. I realized that he/she was on his/her way somewhere and the driver of the Corolla was on his/her way somewhere, too. We may have different assignments but we all have One glorious destiny: to become like Jesus.
That rash decision taken would wreck his car, requiring time, resources and the ability to recover from injury that may have been caused.
In the same vein, sometimes one rash decision may cause you to have to get stuck at one point in your life along time to solve problems that could have been avoided and you may in turn wreck someone else's life.
Where will your current "love" relationship lead you? I feel for someone reading this that one wrong decision you made in gratifying your sexual desires have landed you in circumstances you don't like. But the Lord says fear not! For He does not condemn you. He loves you more even now; return to Him today.
You see, there is another point worth noting about this accident. I think the driver was speeding probably because he/she was distracted by a phone call or a conversation with another person in the car. How often we get distracted and swayed from our core calling. We get involved in other things (which may not necessarily be bad but will doubtless not enable us to fulfil God's plan for us). God's instruction to you is simple: seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Don't allow the temporary cares of this life to lead you into rushing into things you must not get involved in.
In essence, the accident I witnessed taught me to;
# Focus on Jesus
# Listen to Him only
# Not be distracted by things other than my assignment on earth
# Live only for His glory, making decisions based on His Word and the counsel of His Spirit.
Remember, "There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord , that shall stand." (Proverbs 19:21).

Epitome of Faith Unfeigned
While we look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen
For the things which are seen are temporal
But the things that are not seen are eternal
You shall say unto this mountain, Move from hence to yonder place and it shall obey you
And whatsoever you shall say shall come to pass
That has been your life all these years
Making things happen by the Holy Ghost
With a solid foundation of faith unfeigned
You exude love
You express the supernatural
Your countenance releases joy into our lives
Daddy, we thank God for choosing you before the world began to liberate us
To lead us into our destiny
To give us a reason to dream again
To stir us up to take a hold of God's garment
Bishop Matthew Addae-Mensah, we, your offspring, are evidence of your labour of love, your work of faith and your patience of hope.
Be strengthened with increased grace, calmed by multiplied peace and filled with joy unspeakable and full of glory!
With great power, you will witness of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ across the nations of the world, and great grace will be upon us all.
I love Daddy!
I celebrate you!
I honour you!
I salute you!

"There are no hopeless situations; there are only men who have grown hopeless about them."
by John C. Maxwell
"There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off."
Proverbs 23:18 (NIV)
One of the greatest gifts leaders can give to those around them is hope. Never underestimate its power. Winston Churchill was once asked by a reporter what his country's greatest weapon was against Hitler's Nazi regime. Without pausing for a moment, he said: "It was what England's greatest weapon has always been - hope."
People will continue working, struggling, and trying if they have hope. Hope lifts people's morale. It improves their self-image. It re-energizes them. It raises their expectations. It is the leader's job to hold hope high, to instill it in the people he leads. Our people will have hope only if we give it to them. And we will have hope to give if we maintain the right attitude.
Marshall Foch was a hero in the Battle of Verdun. He observed, "There are no hopeless situations; there are only men who have grown hopeless about them." Maintaining hope comes from seeing the potential in every situation and staying positive, despite the circumstances.
