Renew your mind daily!

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

And don’t for a minute let this Book of The Revelation be out of mind. Ponder and meditate on it day and night, making sure you practice everything written in it. Then you’ll get where you’re going; then you’ll succeed.

(Romans 12:1-2; Joshua 1:8, The Message)

There are a number of simple ways to grow strong in  your  faith.  Take  time  to  think  through  this  list.  Try to decide now how you are going to put each item into action.

• Eat  good  food – by reading the Bible, which is God’s message to us.

• Drink  plenty –  by  praying  to  God  and  allowing  His Holy Spirit to change you.

• Take  exercise – by living for God as a  Christian  in today’s  world.

• Breathe  fresh  air  – by enjoying the  atmosphere  of worship in church.

• Relax with others – in the company of God’s family.

Meditate in the Word of God

by Rev. Kenneth Hagin

In  the  New  Birth,  the  spirit  of  man  is  made  a  new  creature, as  we  see  in  Second  Corinthians  5:17,  "Therefore  if  any  man  be in  Christ, he is a  new creature...."  One modern  translation of this verse  reads,  "Therefore  if  any  man  be  in  Christ,  there  is  a  new self."  We  are  not  the  same  old  self  we  used  to  be;  there  is  a  new self.

This  new  man  we  have  become  in  Christ  Jesus  should dominate  our  thinking  processes  and  our  body.  Yet  many  who are  born  again  and  even  are  filled  with  the  Holy  Spirit  still  are baby  Christians who have not  developed spiritually...

Believers   are  baby  Christians  as  long  as  their  salvation experience  and  their  experience  of  being  baptized  in  the  Holy Spirit have  not  yet  affected their  bodies  and  their  minds...

The  Bible  tells  us  that  we  ourselves must  do  something  with  our  bodies  and  our  minds:  ".  .  . PRESENT   YOUR  BODIES  A  LIVING  SACRIFICE,  holy, acceptable  unto  God,  which  is  your  reasonable  service.  And  be not  conformed  to  this  world:  but  BE  YE  TRANSFORMED  BY THE  RENEWING  OF  YOUR  MIND,  that  ye  may  prove  what  is that  good,  and  acceptable,  and  perfect,  will  of  God"   (Rom. 12:1,2).

8 Steps to get the most out of your Bible Study Time

by Kenneth Copeland

Step 8: Act on It

Whatever the Lord teaches you during your Bible study time, put it into practice. Act on it. That’s when you will really see results in your life (Matthew 7:24-27). Remember, the Word is not meant to be taken and hidden away. It is meant to be lived. Let it change the way you deal with your loved ones. Let it influence the way you serve your employers or clients. Let it strengthen you as you minister to others in need. It has the power to transform your life and the lives of those around you. Begin putting it into practice today!

Bible study is a powerful and necessary time for every believer. It is a time of training, sharpening and preparation for whatever the Lord has called you to do. Put these eight steps into practice as you begin studying your Bible and see the difference it makes in your life!

8 Steps to get the most out of your Bible Study Time

by Kenneth Copeland

Step 7: Meditate throughout Your Day

When a scripture stands out to you, write it down or type it somewhere you will see it. Then think about—or “meditate” on it—as you go about your day. Recite and declare it so you cannot only see it with your eyes, but you can hear it with your ears. Let it change the way you think about the circumstances in your life and prepare you for situations to come. Pray and ask the Lord to bring it alive to you and give you revelation about it, then trust that He’ll do just that.

8 steps to get the most out of your Bible Study Time

by Kenneth Copeland

Before you move on to step 6, please review each of the first five steps. Check to see if you have tackled each of them:

> Make an appointment

> Pray

> Prepare to make and take notes

> Choose a starting point

> Read and meditate

And now, here's step 6:

Step 6: Journal

Once you have prayed, read your Bible and meditated on what you’ve read, begin writing the thoughts and insights you have. This is how the Lord will begin leading and teaching you. Even if you can’t recognize what the Lord is saying to you at first, begin writing down your thoughts and feelings—whatever comes to your mind. Soon you’ll begin to see a pattern in your journaling that you will recognize as the Lord’s voice in your life. As you make your study a daily discipline, you’ll come to recognize His voice more quickly.

8 Steps to get the most out of your Bible study Time

by Kenneth Copeland

You have taken three steps already viz.: make an appointment, pray and prepare to take and make notes. A Bible study must always be accompanied with notes to serve as reference for you anytime. Here's step four:

Step 4: Choose a Starting Point

Since the Bible is made up of 66 different books, you don’t have to start at the beginning with Genesis—although this certainly is a good place to start. Here are a few options from which you can choose.

If you are a new Christian, then perhaps you can begin with one of the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke or John. Within them, you will learn about Jesus’ life and ministry. Learn about your covenant rights through Jesus Christ. Read a letter of the Apostle Paul to the early churches. Look for and underline phrases such as “in Him,” “in whom” and “in Christ.” These phrases are found 134 times in the New Testament from Acts to Revelation. Every one of them has something to offer you personally because according to Ephesians 2:6, you are in Christ! Choose a book or topic or person to study. Perhaps you’d like to learn about Moses’ leadership, Joseph’s integrity, Daniel’s faithfulness or Paul’s journeys. Or perhaps you’d like to study about Israel’s escape from Egypt or Jesus’ miracles. Any of these would provide you with excellent study opportunities.Or you can go through a “Read through the Bible” program (visit http://www.biblegateway.com/reading-plans/) so you can read the Bible from cover-to-cover in one year.

8 Steps to get the most out of your Bible Study Time

by Kenneth Copeland

Two posts have already been written covering steps one and two. The first step is to set a definite time aside for your Bible study and the second is to pray that the Word of God will come alive to you. As promised yesterday, here's step three:

Step 3: Prepare to Take and Make Notes

This is your study time. Gather your pen, pencil, highlighter and/or journal. Or use a computer program like Evernote, which can be downloaded for free, to capture your study notes in your mobile device. Be ready to make notes or highlight passages or words that jump out to you or those you would like to study later.

_______________________

So far, you've got three steps to getting the most out of your Bible Study Time. Here's what to do to make this thing work for you: Tonight, start doing your planning and praying (if you haven't) and then prepare a special journal or notebook for taking and making notes.

8 Steps to get the most out of your Bible Study Time

by Kenneth Copeland

The first step outlined in your quest to get the most out of your Bible Study Time was 'Make an Appointment'. Tonight, the second one unfolds:

Step 2: Pray

Before you begin your Bible study time, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to open the Word to you. Quiet any distractions and prepare your heart and mind to receive from the Lord. Remember that the Word is God’s letter to His people—and that includes you. This is not just another book nor is this Bible study time simply something to cross off your to-do list. Approach it reverently, with anticipation that the Lord will reveal Himself to you and speak to you about any concerns you may have.

_______________________

Now you have two steps: First, make an appointment by creating a conducive schedule; second, pray to receive enlightenment from the Holy Spirit as you begin your study.
Step three unfolds tomorrow!

[Quotidian #1] 5 Levels of Leadership by John C. Maxwell

Consider the following:

"Leadership is influence; nothing more nothing less."

"Leadership is developed daily not in a day."

"People don't care how much know until they know how much you care."

In the 25-minute video I watched this afternoon, John Maxwell shares on the 5 levels of leadership as follows- observe them carefully and see where you are in relation to the different people in Church or your organization. Starting from the bottom, here we go:

Level #1- Position

The keyword here is RIGHTS.

People follow you because THEY HAVE TO.

Level #2- Permission

The keyword here is RELATIONSHIP.

People follow you because THEY WANT TO.

Level #3- Production

The keyword here is RESULTS.

People follow you because of WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR THE ORGANIZATION.

Level #4- People Development

The keyword here is REPRODUCTION.

People follow you because of WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR THEM.

Level #5- Personhood

The keyword here is RESPECT.

People follow you because of WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU STAND FOR.

Level #3 is the place where MOMENTUM kicks in.

Level #4 is the place where you get LOYALTY.

"Level #1 is given to you by the ORGANIZATION... Levels 2, 3 & 4 must be earned...If you do them well, Level #5 will be given to you by the PEOPLE."

I trust that you have been blessed by this transcription.

Put the lessons you have learned to work and see your influence grow! Remember, you don't have to try to get commitment from your people, just focus on climbing the steps of these five levels and commitment will cleave to you!

You can study the 5 Levels of Leadership in detail by getting a copy of John Maxwell's book entitled 'Developing the Leader within you'- a whole chapter is dedicated to the subject.

Quotidian ...grow daily!

It's here now! The most edifying messages that are tailored to cause you to grow daily. Straight from my library collection, I share summaries and excerpts of lessons, insights and revelation by my favourite authors including Abba Father, Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome, Bishop Matthew Addae-Mensah, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills, Kenneth Hagin, A.W. Tozer, John C. Maxwell and a host of others.

The best part is that you get access to these messages daily. That's why it's called Quotidian (quotidian means 'daily').

I believe that our advancement in life is proportionate to our level of knowledge of God and the right things, and so I am committed to learning something new ever day, or at least building upon the knowledge I already have. Most importantly, I willingly throw away thoughts that have no chance of getting me any further in life. And so I also want to help others to grow...daily!

I am so excited about Quotidian. You should be too, because your life will take an unceasing upward climb from this time forth as you join me on this life-building journey!

Get ready to be catapulted to greater heights as you learn to grow daily!

...and remember to share with and tell your friends and loved ones so that they can also grow daily!
