Random Thoughts

One afternoon at work, I felt very hungry so I decided to go out and get some food to buy. However, as I scanned my imaginary menu, all the food that came to mind seemed to be 'one way', so I started off from the office, combing through the area for 'something new.' (Whatever that would be).

As I walked and walked and walked, I saw only stores of electronics and banks and boutiques-- no food that was consequential to my needs at that moment. Mind you, I had previously gone to meet two long queues at my favourite spot for boiled yam as well as a place I usually buy some nice jollof rice.

In fact, at the jollof joint, I saw a man with a helmet holding a list. I sighed and thought to myself, "He must be a despatch rider. We are not getting this food now." That's the point I began my food-finding adventure.

As I was returning to the office without finding any food, these thoughts ran through my mind: How is it that I managed to walk such a long distance in search of food? Have I ever gone such lengths to look for a soul?

Then a Scripture came to mind: The Son of man is come to SEEK and to save that which was lost. (Luke 19:10)

Jesus literally sought for the lost. He looked for them. He searched for them as you would for hidden treasure. I was disappointed in myself. But I resloved that I would make it a habit to seek the lost daily, just as I did for food.

That was a random thought.

Of course, I can't leave you without sharing these thoughts: Guard your heart with all diligence for out it are the issues of life...whatsoever things are pure...lovely...of good report...think on these things!
