Your new life in Christ is exciting and worth more than anything in the world. It is an extraordinary life of walking with Jesus by faith.
It is thus important for every child of God to grasp certain foundational truths which will serve to guide you to be a victorious individual and an effective witness of the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ!
At the second equipment session of the Leadership Equipment Conference, attendees were introduced to a material entitled 'Beginning a New Life.' It is a booklet that is designed to help new converts to be grounded in the basic truths of Christianity.
Group discussions were done by participants on the first chapter of the booklet. Members discussed issues pertaining to the 'old man' and the new creature in Christ Jesus.
With the aid of the questions and spaces provided for answers, students present systematically went through Scriptures (including 2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 4:18: Ephesians 2:4-6; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 3:26) to help them understand the difference between the old life inherited from Adam and the new life in Christ.
It was truly a blessing to participate in that session with Apostle Victor Badger.
Participants discovered that we can live as the new man by renewing our minds with the Word of God (Romans 12:2), making a conscious effort to walk in the Spirit (Galatians 5:16-17) and thinking on the right things (Philippians 4:8).
We were challenged to stick to the Word in order to live a pure life (Psalm 119:9).
We identified fellowship with the brethren as a key factor for spiritual growth. Apostle Badger said, "When you don't go to Church regularly, you receive messages from the pit of hell."
He urged participants to take counsel from godly people (Psalm 1:1-2). He also admonished us to focus on things that will lead to righteousness and holiness.
He said, "If you are wise, you will not enter into unhealthy relationships."
Rev. Mrs. Badger bemoaned the rampant 'beloving' that leads to 'deloving'. She said 'deloving' can be very disastrous; it has sent many people to the grave, depression, and out of womanhood.
Apostle Badger charged members present to learn to confess and forsake their sins (Proverbs 28:13).
Reading from 1 John 1:6,9, we observed that God delights that His children walk in the light. Apostle also pointed out that God is ready to forgive us our sins if we confess them.
Stay tuned for more updates on the ongoing Leadership Equipment Conference.
You can also still come and reside (if you registered) for the remaining days of the Conference at YMCA.
