You have been Declared 'Not Guilty!'

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after
the flesh, but after the Spirit.
                                                                                                                                                                            Romans 8:1

All charges against you have been
dropped- Jesus paid it all! You're free!
Isn't it refreshing and delightful to know that you are utterly free from any judgment against you because Jesus Christ took your place? Someone rightly said 'to be justified' implies 'just as if I'd never sinned.' What Jesus did when He died for you was not simply saving you from your sins. Rather, He stood in your place and was judged on your behalf. Thus, every form of guilt that was upon you was delivered to Christ Jesus. Romans 5:8,9 says, ‘But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him’ The Blood of Christ is what justifies you. God no longer holds your sins against you because when you received Christ into your heart by faith, you trusted in Him to have taken away all your sins- past, present and future. He completely blotted them out: ‘To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation’ (2 Corinthians 5:19).

You need to understand that Christ did an awesome work of regeneration in you through the Holy Spirit the day you got born again. Because He was judged in your place, you are now free from all that under normal circumstances you should have suffered. Now, the judgment represents the death of Jesus. Further, when Christ was raised from the dead, righteousness was the result. As such, when you are in Christ, His righteousness is imparted to your spirit, and therefore God will not hold anything against you. This is the grace of God. God now sees you in the light of the finished work of Christ- you have right standing with him. Glory to God!

Religious folks will tell you that God holds something against you when you miss the mark and thus you need to remain in your guilt. However, that’s not what the Word teaches. If you do miss the mark, what you have to do is obtain forgiveness from God- receive His forgiveness because he's already given it. So you say, 'Father, in the Name of Jesus I receive your forgiveness for....' The righteousness of God in your spirit came by the grace of God- you didn’t and needn’t work for it:  ‘For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast’ (Ephesians 2:8,9).

The word translated ‘condemnation’ in our theme Scripture is ‘katakrima.’ It denotes an adverse sentence or verdict. In other words, this sentence that was supposed to be passed on you was rather passed on Jesus. Why? Because He took your place that you might be in his stead.Take advantage of this today and live a victorious life in Christ with no sense of condemnation, because there is none levelled against you. Hallelujah!

God says, ‘I declare you not guilty!’
