Family Affairs Reloaded- The Exhibition

God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.

John 3:16, CEV

You are the light of the world-
a reference point for all people!

A Christian is a wealthy man discovering his inheritance (in Christ). The first three parts of Family Affairs explained the kind of relationship Jesus Christ established after He died and was raised from the dead. You have discovered now that you are accepted in the Family of God and Jesus Christ is your  Big Brother (Hebrews 2:11). When you were born again, eternal life was imparted to your spirit. Thus, from that day, you ceased to be that same old person you were before- there was a total transformation in your identity (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Every child of God is born of God. And everything that hails from God overcomes the world (1 John 5:4). But how come? It's because that individual now operates in the same manner as God does. Paul said, 'And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.' (1 Corinthians 13:13).
Once you are born into this Family, you need to know the basis upon which members of this Family operate. We function on the basis of the Word of God. The Word of God is what God has programmed you to become. Jesus said, 'Follow me, and I will make you...' (Matthew 4:19). You see, Jesus Christ is the Word ( John 1:1). In effect, the Word of God has the ability to make you what it talks about.
Faith, hope and love define your life.
A lot of God's children tend to ask God for things out of ignorance- they don't know they already have it. Every Christian has faith. The day you got born again, faith was imparted to your spirit (Romans 12:3). You don't have to pray to God to give you faith. What you do with the faith He's given is what matters.
Then, we have hope. Every Christian has the glorious hope of living with Jesus forever; after they've been given new spiritual bodies (Titus 2:13).
And then, the greatest among the three- love- is in the heart of every child of God (Romans 5:5).

Paul wrote to the Galatians saying, 'For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.' (Galatians 5:16)

We perceive things by faith and relate with others by love. We walk by faith and not by sight ( 2 Corinthians 5:7). Don't be controlled by your senses. Let your inner man control your actions. Your inner man (your spirit) is able to control your thoughts and actions when the Word of God gains the ascendancy in your life. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). As you speak forth the Word of God you've received by meditation, faith is stirred in your spirit. You now see that you are walking in the reality of God's Word. Pastor Chris says, 'Faith is the response of the human spirit to the Word of God.' Your senses will lie to you. What you taste, and see, and feel, and touch, and smell, are not what you are limited to. Your life transcends this physical world. As such, you have contact with spiritual realities through the Word of God. Make it a point to constantly receive God's Word into your spirit by meditating on it daily. It will change the way you think and completely alter your actions. Glory to God!

The love of God is the most important ingredient that makes the Christian complete. If a man is not walking in the light of it, he lives a frustrated life (1 Corinthians 13:1-3). The ultimate motivation for every action of yours is love. God has lavished His love upon you. You need to recognise God's love for you first. That's when you can express it and bless another person with His love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 is usually read at wedding ceremonies. Love is not limited only to a man and his wife. Love is the lifestyle of the Christian. Start every day with this very important exercise and see the radical results you will get in the next few months as you act upon what you say. The Bible says God is love (1 John 4:8). You are born of His Word. And He says that as He is, so are you in this world. In other words, you are exactly like Jesus in your spirit. Don't pay attention to those who say you are wicked. That's not what God says about you. his love is in your heart and he wants to express His love to the world through you. So, since you are exactly like Him, it means you are also Love. This is what you are going to do: write out 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 in your journal. Now, for every part of the text in which you see 'Love,' or 'Charity,' or 'It,' replace it with your name and then read it out loud to yourself. Do this every day and you will notice what the Word of God will do in your life. This is the text:

Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].
Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]...

(1 Corinthians 13:4-8)
