Nehemiah in Focus- The 10000-foot view (Part III)

In 52 days, the walls had been rebuilt; but not without a final attempt by Sanballat, Tobiah, and company to stifle their work. True to Nehemiah’s words, they had rebuilt the walls with God’s help (Chapter 6).After rebuilding the walls, Nehemiah kept on organising the people, registering them and designating their various tasks to them (Chapter 7). Ezra led the city in worship as they gave thanks to God and blessed Him. He also read out the Law of God (Chapter 8). This led to reaffirmation of faith and great revival among the people. They promised to serve God faithfully. Finally, we see the various clans and their leaders, as well as the dedication of the new wall of Jerusalem and the purging of sin from the land (Chapters 9-13).After thoroughly going through the book of Nehemiah, we understand that God’s blueprint [his Word and the Holy Spirit’s Counsel] given to us for building is what counts- all the time.
