Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the
angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
Luke 15:10
6. Go in pairs
Jesus' strategy for sending out His disciples was always in pairs.
Rarely did He ever ask His disciples to go individually to a city or town to
preach the Gospel. In Mark chapter 6, Jesus sent out His disciples in twos to
go and preach (verse 7). The outcome was clearly great, because the disciples
came back rejoicing.
Also, in Acts chapter 13 verse 2, the Holy Spirit sent Paul and
Barnabas out to accomplish a specific mission. Thus, we notice that God
delights in His messengers going out in pairs to do His work.
Find a brother whom you can reach out with the Gospel with, and go
forth to preach the Gospel together. As you do so, a strong spiritual bond is
formed which the enemy cannot withstand. This is because your prayers are not
done alone, but together. The Bible says, "Two
are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For
if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he
falls and has not another to lift him up!" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).
When you go out in pairs, especially with someone who is more
spiritually mature than you are, it helps you to learn as he or she shares the
Gospel. This is because you learn how to minister in different situations. In
addition, when you make mistakes whiles preaching, you are sure to have someone
to correct you so that you learn from that mistake. Finally, you can have somebody
to encourage you if you're rejected for preaching.
Maybe you're wondering where you can get that person whom you'll
go with from. This is what you can do: Which individual in Church are you
closest to? Identify that person, and pray to God about reaching out with the
person. Then, talk to the person about your intention to go in pairs to preach
the Gospel. You will make a powerful team and do marvellous exploits as you
pray together and preach together.
Learn to adopt this strategy and it will help you to win a soul a
day.
