I observed the sequence of the description of Jesus's residence in the earth and I was startled: "I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty." (Revelation 1:8)
He is, He was, He is to come! First, the present, then the past, then the future. What does it tell me? When Jesus shows up in your life, He first comes into your present situation. That's how come He makes you a new creation- there is a transformation of your inward man to reflect His likeness. The present is important because it impacts both the past and the future.
You see, when Jesus comes into your Ife, His love is so overwhelming that it literally blots out all your transgressions! That sacrifice on the cross is so powerful that it impacts you presently, delivering you from the power of darkness and translating you into His Kingdom! Hallelujah!
So, He goes on to say, "which was". He was! Yes, He preexisted you. He knew you before you were born! No wonder John says in the beginning was the Word. Do you want to know why you are still alive? Get to the Word. He was! And He has taken care of everything concerning your past! He has settled the case concerning all your sins! Just believe! Don't live another day in condemnation!
Finally, He is to come! Wow! What a blessing! He is the holder of the future! He said He wants to give you an expected end! That means your future is blessed! There is so much hope for you! He says the path of the just is as the shining light which shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day! Jesus will return to the earth in full view of the whole world! Are you ready to meet the Master? Prepare to meet the Almighty!
This was another random thought! Of course, I can't leave you without reminding you to guard your heart with all diligence and to think in things which are true, noble, pure and of good report (Proverbs 4:23; Philippians 4:8).
