Are you 'synced'?

If you use Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud or any cloud storage platform, you may have come across the word 'sync' a couple of times. 

'Sync' is the contracted form of the word "synchronize", which has as its root morpheme 'syn', which generally means " same". So we see 'syn' in a word like "synonym", which means " a word meaning the same as another".

In the same vein (pardon the pun), when you drop a file into your Dropbox or Drive, and it is uploaded, it is synched. This is so that you can access the file on any device at all once you have Internet connectivity and are signed into your account.

So, for example, if you downloaded your slides at UGCS (where pen drives and USB cables are not permitted) and you wanted to get the slides unto your phone, you can simply drop it into your Dropbox or Drive. Then, you can sign into your Dropbox or Drive on your phone and download it from there. 

Nonetheless, this is only possible after you have synched your files on all devices. Without the synching, there can be no retrieving.

You see, it's so important for your mind you be "synched" with the mind of the Spirit.

What is God thinking right now? Is that what you're also thinking? How do you buy into the mind of God such that your thinking, talking, attitudes and manner of life align with His Person?

The simple answer is that you must be in sync with Him.

I wish I could share with you all the ways to be in sync with Him in this piece but I have an objective to stir you up to desire to align your thinking with God's thinking.

You see, the analogy of Dropbox and your device is indicative of the following:

# God the Father is the Cloud Service Provider, like Dropbox or Google Drive and the owner of the files.

# The Holy Spirit is the "Cloud" (or the Internet)

# Jesus Christ is the custodian of the devices and the files.

# The files are His Word.

# We are the devices.

# When God wants to transmit data to us, He does it through His Spirit. The purpose of all data is to ultimately become wisdom (according to the knowledge pyramid). That means it has to be processed.

# Since we are the devices, we are supposed to be positioned to receive from Him so that we can prosecute His agenda in this earth.

# Jesus, when He was ascending, gave gifts unto men, and therefore they are channels of distribution for these files. So our pastors, teachers, apostles, prophets and evangelists are like routers, Ethernet cables and ISPs designed to deliver these files to us.

# We, the devices, must receive the files and synchronize with the other devices so that we all have the same mind. That's why the Word says, "let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:5). Elsewhere, He says that "...be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind." (Philippians 2:2). Then, he shows us the template for your thinking: "...whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things." (Philippians 4:8).

# When you are in sync, you are thinking on the same frequency as the entire body and as such God can function through you. An "unsynched" mind is not useful for the Father's use. This is because you are in opposition to God plans and purposes: "For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God." (Romans 8:5-8)

# As such, what happens is that you tend to do things your own way (which is wrong way) and you don't see anything wrong with it because pride begins to puff you up due to your independent thinking.

# The sad fact is many are not in sync. They have not taken a hold of God's Word and are not tuned to the frequency of His Spirit. As such, they are like paralyzed limbs in a man's body. They have rendered themselves inoperative in the Body of Christ.

# But there's good news! A device can always connect to the Internet and sync with the files once it is booted! "If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land" (Isaiah 1:19).
