A mindset refers to a set of attitudes or fixed ideas that somebody has and that are often difficult to change. A Church planter should have the mindset of Christ (Philippians 2:5).
This week, we'll have a look at 12 mindsets you should have to be a Church planter!
Mindset 1: We will account for our works on the day of judgement. God gave each and every one of us a gift to accomplish His purpose. And just like a boss will assess our productivity, God is also monitoring and assessing us. On the judgement day, we will answer the question, “What have you to show for thy gifts”?
I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.
(Revelation 2:19 KJV)
Mindset 2: To plant churches means to go all out for God. It is imperative that we make it our number 1 priority. This is because in planting churches, we are expanding the Kingdom of God and this is the heartbeat of God – for as many as possible to be saved. This hymn captures this mindset beautifully: "Go, labor on; spend, and be spent; Thy joy to do the Father's will; It is the way the Master went; Should not the servant tread it still?"
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.
(Mark 8:35 KJV)
