'If you discipline yourself, you won't need someone to discipline you; wise people embrace corrections.' This was how the man of God, Pastor Samuel Fianko started his message on Wednesday evening during the midweek service.
After a brief recap of the previous week's message, Pastor Sam began his message entitled 'Nine features of the recreated human spirit'.
Quoting from 2 Corinthians 4:18, He explained that as Christians we fix our eyes on the unseen. How's that possible? He stated that there were two types of light, the greater light and the lesser light. However, the Word of God is the only light that can be used to view the unseen. He further explained that the word of God ignites faith which enables you to see the unseen (Romans 10:17).
So as a child of God full of the Word of God, you have the light that enables you to see the unseen; that light is the Word of God which brings faith to see the unseen.
Quoting from Galatians 5: 22, the man of God stated that the first feature of the recreated human spirit is love. The love he spoke about is 'agape'- the God-kind of love- and that is the kind of love we need to express to people around us (John 3:16). He went on to say that if you love God, then you can't hate your brother or sister as seen in 1 John 4: 20.
He summed it up by encouraging the congregation to do everything with love (1 Corinthians 6:14). He said, 'love your lecturers and even the assignments they give you'. It might seem very difficult but the presence of the Holy Spirit in you makes it simple.
Pastor Sam encouraged the congregation to read and meditate on Galatians 5:22 since the time was up.
