On the 3rd of September 2017, a powerful service was held at the Kingdom Cathedral of Gospel Light International Church. The service was awesome right from the Bible study to the closing prayer. There was a powerful message delivered by our very own dear Pastor Samuel Fianko.
Before the main sermon however, he shared some powerful words on giving as a Christian. The Scripture was taken from 2 Corinthians 9:6-11. From these verses, we learnt that giving bountifully would draw a bountiful harvest unto you.
Also, we should purpose in our hearts what we want to give to God when we are going for Service. Finally, we learnt that givers are wealthy people.
The title of the message for the day was Three Deadly Dangers That Hinder the Call of God.
The theme text for the message was Luke 9:57-62 .
The three deadly dangers are as follows:
1. Negotiation (Luke 9:57 & 58)
As Christians, most of us have the attitude of wanting the finished work or product without going through the process. In following Christ, we need not set conditions or try to negotiate with God on our terms to follow Him. We must not put up the attitude of “God give me this and I will follow you”. There must be reckless abandonment in
following Christ.
2. Procrastination (Luke 9: 59 & 60)
Leonard Ravenhill once said “The opportunity of a lifetime is only seized in the lifetime of the opportunity”. In our journey with Christ, we must endeavor not to put off for tomorrow what we ought to do today. That one opportunity might be the only one, and once it passes may never come back. If Samuel had not answered God on the third call, who knows, God may have never called back and Samuel would not have been the great prophet he became later.
3. Hesitation (Luke 9: 61 & 62)
There are many times in our Christian walk where we hesitate to follow the order and directives of God. We however need to strive to follow Abraham’s example.
We need to have that kind of great faith in God.
In conclusion, there is only one solution to these three deadly dangers and it is FAITH IN GOD.
Join us this and every Sunday at 7:30am at the GLIC Kingdom Chapel located at the Benchmark building located at Okponglo for more of such amazing messages and join the amazing family.
God bless you.
