Waiting and Dating

Marriage is the gateway into physical union, the third level of relationship. Physical intimacy is consummated in marriage not before.

As it says in the Scripture, "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh" (Gen. 2:24).

The phrase "one flesh" is a sexual reference. Marriage does not bring two spirits together; that occurs at the first level. Neither does it join the minds, wills, and emotions, which takes place at the "soulical" level. Marriage brings a man and a woman together physically; it is essentially sexual in nature. It is designed to meet the physical needs of two people who are already one in spirit and soul.
