Enlightened!

One beautiful Tuesday afternoon, I got on board a shuttle to return to the Hall after two exciting successive lectures. As we were nearing my destination, a young man enters the bus and sits next to me. I am next to the window and so I am enjoying the scenery and looking forward to a meeting I have as well as Day 1 of a Crusade that evening.

Down in my spirit, I heard the words 'blind' and 'sight'. It sounded to me like a word of knowledge for somebody. Just then, I thought, "Is this gentleman sitting beside me blind?" For two seconds, I thought about it and then turned to him and asked, "Please, can you see clearly?" He replied, "Yes." I asked, "Are you sure?" He responded that he did. Well, I noticed that the Lord was directing our conversation from there. I asked him, "Do you understand what you're taught in class?" He said, "Well, not everything." I went on, "Well, what do you do when you don't understand a particular topic or course?" He said, "I keep trying and trying until I get it."

I said, "Well, you know, the human mind has unlimited potential. We just have not harnessed its full potential. It is said that the highest extent to which the human brain has been used is up to 15%. The point is that your mind has unlimited potential and you can understand anything, with the help of the Holy Spirit." Just then, it snapped and hit me, 'This gentleman needs spiritual enlightenment.'

I asked him, "Do you understand the Bible when you read it?"

He said, "No."

Spontaneously, I began to prophesy to him about how the Lord intends to pour revelation into his spirit and give him spiritual undertmstanding and insight. I told him about how that he should give attention to the Word of God and study it and not just read it and that he should get a journal to document all the insight the Lord is about to grant him. As I ministered to him, he was silent and listened intently to me. I asked him to start studying the Gospel of John and to pray in the Spirit upon arriving at his destination. When I was done, I said, "God bless you!" Wonderfully enough, I said that at his stop. He asked the driver to stop and paid my fare before getting off the bus. I was stunned. He got off the bus and turned to look at me again, amazed. I blessed him again.

Kofi Boateng was definitely blessed that afternoon. He had a deep encounter with the Holy Spirit that empowered him and sparked up the gift of God in him.

One of the things I am beginning to grasp is that we, as God's people, are a prophetic people. We have the Holy Spirit within us to guide us into all truth and teach us in the way we should go. Not only that, we can edify others with the prophetic utterances and abilities the Lord gives to us.

What you just read about is the manifestation of the word of knowledge. It's one of the gifts of the Spirit the Lord has graciously granted to the body of Christ for us to use for His glory in preaching the Gospel and making disciples.

You too can use the gift to be a blessing to others. Simply receive it by desiring it and asking the Father. Then you'll have it. Receive the gift of prophecy from the Lord.

The Lord wants us to walk in the revelation of His Word. He wants us to be epistles of Christ, manifesting His nature and character on this earth today. The Word of God can be understood by all of His children. He gave it to us because He addressed it to our spirits. God did not address His Word to your head. Don't try to rationalize it. Just believe it. Accept His Word for what it is.

I pray one particular prayer for myself and for you every day:

Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, [16] Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; [17] That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: [18] The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, [19] And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, [20] Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places , [21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: [22] And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, [23] Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

(Ephesians 1:15-23).

God wants to speak to you. He longs for you to hear His Voice and interact with Him daily. Give Him room today. Receive Jesus into your life today; He is the Light!
