"The Cross," they say, "is where your will and His Will cross."
Oh! The Agony of the Cross
It demands such endurance, such fortitude, such bravery...and oh, complete surrender!
No wonder He says you have not resisted sin to the point of sweating as though your sweat were great drops of blood
For blood is indeed involved
The intensity of the struggle
Between the flesh and the Spirit
A never-ending contention
A wrestle that is your mission
To win! Yes! To win this battle against your fiercest enemy- self!
Oh! The Agony of the Cross
No wonder Jesus, in that garden, knee-bent, head-bowed, hands-clasped, endured such contradiction on the inside
To go or not to go?
The Cross or my own cause?
Oh! The Agony of the Cross!
It hurts!
It hurts so bad...when you know what He says to do but also have an option
How His words ring so strong!
Deny yourself! Take up your cross! Follow Me!
What will it be?
The Agony of the Cross may last for a while but the fruits of living by the Spirit are eternal!
#EDIFY...poetry that builds you!
