Who say God no dey?

I was famished. I had to cook something to eat. I turned on the valve of the cylinder's regulator. Then I heard an unusual sound. Apparently, it was a leakage of gas. I had never experienced that before and considering the fact that it was night time, I decided to wait till morning to do my cooking despite the intensity of the hunger.

Fast forward to the following morning, I turned on the valve again and I heard the same sound. Something was definitely not right. When I exerted my weight on the cylinder's regulator, the sound stopped. So I decided to put a load on it. It stopped. Then I got my water to start boiling. But for some strange reason, I decided to remove the load. And when I did remove the load, the fire on the stove literally jumped to the cylinder. What was I gonna do? The cylinder was on fire! I tried to turn it off but the valve had already melted. Oh no! I had never experienced this before. I had only watched a video on how to put out a fire on a cylinder and I recall they used a cloth or towel or so. Well, I took my last memory of PRESEC- my school cloth and tried to use it to cover the raging fire. It did not work! I later discovered that the cloth was supposed to be damp.

Here I was, not knowing what to do- scared to my bones! Side note, the cylinder and stove were in my room! I thought of something else- remove the tube connecting to the stove. When I did that the fire gushed out like a flamethrower!

As to why the cylinder did not explode, I do not know! I am amazed to date and cannot fathom the mercy of the Lord in my wildest imagination!

So what did I do? How did the fire go out? What happened to the cylinder? Well, I carried the cylinder with another cloth as a glove while it was on fire, to the back of the house- and that's how it went out.

Seeing that display of mercy towards me has taught me not only how the Lord loves me but how important He regards me being intact in His scheme of affairs. The only injury I sustained was a burn on the region of two of my knuckles. They morphed into blisters but they have healed now and there only scars there!

  1. Wow. Glory be to Jesus. This is actually one of my greatest fears each time I'm in the kitchen. I thank God.
