The Great Commission

Matthew 28:19-20 is the greatest command of Jesus Christ; it's also known as the Great Commission).

He said, "God authorized and commanded me to commission you: Go out and train everyone you meet, far and near, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age?" (Matthew 28:19-20, The Message).

This command is not only to a particular sect of people in the body of Christ but to everyone in the body of Christ, even the freshest converts.

We have been given a mandate to preach the Gospel of Christ to all nations. In other words, preach the Gospel to all people.

The Bible didn't say all people except Muslims or except hardcore criminals; says to all nations/people, every corner of the world.

Verse 20 says, "Teaching them to observe whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway even unto the end of the world".

How will you teach the command when you have no idea about it?

Colossians 3:16 says, "Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly..."

You will only know the command of Christ when you allow His Word to dwell in you richly/abundantly. We should learn to literally eat the Word of God daily and digest it.

This will cause an overflow of the Word in us and it will break forth unconsciously even in our casual conversations with people.

The last part of this Great Commission is an assurance that He will be with us even to the end of the world. This implies that as we preach the Gospel to people, there may be resistance but He has already assured us of His Presence.

Therefore brethren in the Lord, let us not be weary in preaching the Gospel of Christ to all nations/people but let us be steadfast.
Remember: "If ye love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15)
