The first joint Service of the 2018 40-Day Chain Prayer and Fasting of Gospel Light International Church held at the Phenomenal Faith Cathedral on Monday, 1st October, 2018.
The Presiding Bishop of Gospel Light International Church taught on Reasons why you must be a Soul Winner. In his discourse, the man of God adumbrated seven vital reasons why every believer must be a soul winner.
The first reason he gave is that soul winning is a sign that we are obeying Jesus' last command (Mark 16:15). He urged congregants to be intentional about winning souls by being warm and receptive to people. He explained that we should strike up conversations with people in order to preach the Gospel to them. He further noted that since soul winning is a craft, it must be practised in order to become part and parcel of us.
Secondly, the man of God noted that we must be soul winners because God wants His house to be full (Luke 14:22-24).
He went on to let the brethren know that Jesus has other sheep he wants to bring in and we are the ones to help bring in those sheep (John 10:16). Bishop disclosed that if we do not preach the Gospel, we are selfish.
The fourth reason you must be a soul winner is that evangelism is the only way we can demonstrate the compassion of Jesus (Matthew 14:14; Matthew 15:32).
Another important reason why you should be a soul winner is that evangelism is the only way Jesus can recruit workers to fulfil the work of ministry (Luke 10:2). Bishop announced, "More evangelism, more workers for God!"
Bishop explained that if we don't reach out to win the lost, the few people doing the work will age and be incapable of continuing the work after some years. He also pointed out that Jesus is always looking for fresh and young people. Adding, he noted that a Church that is not winning souls is weakening in strength.
Furthermore, the man of God hinted that evangelism is the only means we can inform others about the love of God and demonstrate his power to others.
'Twas a time of divine enablement to win souls!
Catch tonight's Service at the Phenomenal Faith Cathedral at 6pm.
