Pure Salvation

How does a Church on the outskirts of Accra grow to have a membership of 1,000 within 8 months? By preaching pure salvation!

Teaching on Pure Salvation during the second joint Service of the 40-day 2018 chain prayer and fasting of Gospel Light International Church, Bishop E.L. Nterful related this powerful testimony of exponential growth that has taken place in his newly established Church branch.

Bishop Matthew Addae-Mensah, founder and Presiding Bishop of Gospel Light International Church said, "Our works here on earth will determine where we'll reside in Heaven" as he introduced Bishop Nterful of the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UDOLGC).

Bishop Nterful's theme text was Hebrews 2:1-3, which says, "Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip. For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him ;"

He intimated that the great salvation the Bible talks about is pure salvation. Adding, he noted that we start to grow the Church with salvation, meaning if people are not saved, they will not come into the Church. The man of God stressed the need for us to preach pure salvation because that is what the world needs.

He elucidated that when the Holy Spirit came, the message that poured forth from the apostles' lips was the message of salvation (Acts 2:38).

He lamented at the current state of majority of the Church, saying, "What many pastors today are calling maturity is actually backsliding. Many pastors are calling the message of salvation 'basics'. Prosperity preaching cannot save anybody! The preaching of the cross releases the power of God...the most powerful message in the Bible is John 3:16!...how many times have you heard it preached?"

He challenged congregants to organize relentless outreaches by going to the street corners, brothels, and discos to preach the Gospel. He disclosed, "A pastor who looks down on the pure salvation has backslidden."

Reading from Acts 16:25-30, Bishop Nterful stressed that what people need is salvation through faith in Jesus. He hinted that our Churches will be full if we embark on preaching pure salvation.

He taught that 'Do you know Jesus?' should be the commonest question we ask those around us. Adding, the man of God asserted that one of the first signs that you are genuinely saved is that you'll preach salvation.

He again challenged congregants to get out there to reach the lost with pure salvation.

Bishop Nterful pointed out that when we meet in our Churches there must be sinners in our midst (see Luke 15:1). He noted that most Christians are not bearing fruit because they are short-sighted and have forgotten that their sins have been purged.

Reading from 1 Timothy 6:6-12, he explained that a Christian must not live for the things of the world.

He said, "The heart of God is that you must be a soul winner."

In closing, Bishop Nterful read Romans 10:13-14, explaining how that we must first preach the Word for sinners to hear, believe and call on the Name of the Lord in order to be saved!

He charged the brethren to not be ashamed of Jesus Christ.

'Twas a night of pure salvation as Heaven rejoiced at the salvation of four souls!
