One Monday mid morning, I got on board a bus heading for Korle bu. As I waited for the bus to load, I heard in my spirit to preach the Gospel to the gentleman sitting next to me. I had plugged my ears with earphones and was unwilling to heed His Voice...mainly because I was being tremendously blessed by the music. But before I knew it, my mouth was open! I asked him, "Do you know Jesus Christ?" he shook his head and said, "No." I thought to myself, "Wow! And I almost ignored the Voice of the Lord."
I then said to him, "Well, I want to talk to you about Jesus Christ."
He agreed.
Then, I shared the Gospel with him briefly, telling him that Jesus is the Son of God, who came into the world to save him from his sins by dying on a cross. I continued, "He did it because He loves you so much." I went on, "The Bible says, 'For God so loved the world...'"...then he joined me to complete John 3:16.
If he didn't know Jesus Christ, how could he know John 3:16?
Then it hit me: knowing a popular Bible verse does not mean one knows the Lord. I told him that God wants a personal relationship with him and that there are only three people you can choose to live for in this life: yourself, the devil or God. BUT you can only know God by first coming into contact with His Son, Jesus Christ. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
Fast forward to the end of my message, he said he would want Jesus to be the Lord of his life. So we prayed! And he received Jesus as the Lord of his life- meaning- one soul less bound for hell. Glory to God!
Interestingly, he's also called Samuel and he's a goalkeeper!
You may never know who is sitting next to you in that vehicle, restaurant or reception. You may be their last chance or first chance to hear the Gospel!
Today, cause a party in Heaven by preaching the Gospel to somebody!
Everybody needs JESUS!
