D-Day was enlightening!

Discovery day (a.k.a. D-day) is an annual program organized by the UG campus ministry of Gospel Light International Church. It is a very insightful program that continuously keeps attendees on the right path in their Christian lives. This year, D-day was held on Tuesday, 6th March, 2018 in TV room 4001 of the Hilla Limann Hall. At exactly 3:20pm, the program began with Brother Isaac leading participants in prayer to open the program. A powerful worship session followed, also led by Brother Isaac.

Brother Isaac emceed the programme. Great testimonies were shared by both Minister Dzidedi Senaya and Pastor Samuel Owusu Fianko on the impact of last year's edition and God's goodness respectively.

Then, an informal session of the program ensued. Minister Emmanuel Antwi, who was the moderator, conducted an exciting and educative interview with guest Minister Nana Ampem Darko on Music with Purpose.

Participants were admonished to listen to Gospel music and music that edifies.

It was a very wonderful session where the guest spoke immensely about music, its purpose and the power it carries. Due to his excellent elaboration on the topic, various questions sprang up from among the audience and all those questions were answered satisfactorily.

Immediately after that, the main programme began. This time we watched a video of an interview featuring Jeremy Pearsons and Joseph Prince, the host and guest respectively.
The guest spoke about Reigning in Life through Jesus Christ, which was actually the theme for D-day this year. He taught widely on the topic and attendees were blessed and enlightened. Reading from Romans 5:17, the man of God, Joseph Prince, elucidated on the power twins: Grace and righteousness. He noted that righteousness is a gift obtained in the new birth; it is not attained by our works. Adding, he posited that Grace is the antidote to sin.

Citing many cases of people who were bound to addictions such as pornography and eating disorders, he pointed out that individuals who had come out victorious encountered the reality of the Truth that they are the righteousness of God, by confessing over and over again, "I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus."

It was indeed a time of enlightenment and understanding.
Questions were asked after the interview and contributions were made as well. Pastor Samuel Owusu Fianko helped in answering most of the questions that were posed, with Minister Nana Ampem Darko also contributing immensely. Pastor Sam then shared the Gospel with the attendees and led a few to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal savior.
Afterwards, Brother Isaac blessed the attendees with a powerful song ministration and the refreshment followed. Attendees really enjoyed the pizza and coke. A total of about 35 students were present to enjoy such sweet fellowship. Wow, what a day it was!
We thank God and we are looking forward to next year’s D-day.
