FIRE for FIRE

In the 1st century, a very great apostle named Peter was imprisoned. He was heavily guarded in a maximum security prison by 16 soldiers. There was no way out and he was scheduled for death row just like James. But thanks be to God for the Church that engaged in constant prayer! He finally got free after the Angel of the Lord was sent to him and the gates automatically opened for him to go into the city!

Fast forward to the 21st century and here are four things some people would have done, other than constant prayer:

# They would have sent a delegation to Herod for mercy. The truth is there would not have been any response.

# They would have written a letter for Presidential pardon. Angry Herod would not have paid attention to them.

# They would have promised not to preach the Gospel again. That would be compromise!

# They would physically invade the prison with a SWAT Team. That would be suicidal!

The truth is if all the systems of the world do not work, CONSTANT PRAYER will work!

Bishop James Saah turned on the intensity of the holy heat on the third night of the Faith to Faith Convention. The man of God shared a message entitled "FIRE for FIRE".

It was an absolutely blessed time of revelation and change in the lives of attendees.

Bishop James began, " Your enemies will know you tonight...what God will do for you tonight will take you from the back to the front!"

His theme text was Acts chapter 12, where we find the account of James martyrdom and Peter's imprisonment and freedom.

He intimated, "Authority will not concede anything until you demand it."

The man of God shared six major revivals that took place in the early Church viz.:

# The Holiness Revival

# The Giving Revival

# The Loyalty Revival

# The Evangelism Revival

# The Prayer Revival

# The Power Revival

Dwelling on the power revival, Bishop James noted seven things power can do that God gave to the Church viz.:

# Power to contact Heaven and God's Throne (Luke 11:13).

# Power to partner with God (Matthew 9:38).

# Power to resist and defeat Satan (1 Peter 5:8).

# Power to transcend the law of nature (John 9:4).

# Power to obtain angelic assistance (Matthew 28:2-7).

# Power to move mountains (Zechariah 4:6-7).

# Power to bless (Acts 10:38).

Bible scholars have established that Acts chapter 12 (Peter's imprisonment) was the direct result of Acts chapter 10 (the salvation of Cornelius and his household).

Now, when Herod began to harass the Church, he harassed certain people in the Church. He singled them out. The enemy can single you out for harassment. Nonetheless, no matter how much the devil harasses you, you'll be delivered.

Bishop James prophesied, "Any hand stretched to vex you shall wither!"

Why did Herod have to arrange for Peter to be put into a maximum security facility, guarded by 16 soldiers?

It was because Peter was a dangerous commodity! You are also a dangerous commodity!

We see two previous arrests of Peter which proved futile in Acts 4:18-20 and Acts 5:18-20.

The truth is that you never be boxed in or stopped! Nothing that God is doing in you will stop; whatever He begins, He finishes (Philippians 1:6).

In Acts 12:5, Luke records that the Church offered "CONSTANT PRAYER". 'BUT' is the difference between your past and your future.

Bishop James adumbrated four things desperate people do viz.:

# Desperate people don't care what others say (Mark 5:25).

# Desperate people don't care that what they're doing has never been done before.

# Desperate people don't care how impossible the request is.

# Desperate people don't care the physical hardship they must go through to get the answer.

He noted, "The power of the world is imprisonment; the power of the Church is prayer, and when the two meet, one must give way."

In verse 10 of Acts chapter 12, Peter had been poked by the angel of the Lord and the chains fell off his hands. As he followed the angel, they went past two guard posts before getting to the iron gate, which requires the effort of 25 men of open!

Nevertheless, when Peter got to the iron gate, it opened automatically!

Note also that the first and second guard posts did not lead to the city; it was the iron gate that led to the city. The fact that you have gone past the 1st and 2nd guard posts does not mean you are totally free; it is the iron gate that leads to the city- this where you are totally free.

The man of God thundered, "What the enemy closed, God can open. Just one angel from God will open the gate. The city is your freedom."

He further noted that prayer makes things automated and it brings you rest. Alluding to how the same angel that freed Peter also killed Herod, Bishop James said that what is your deliverance is their calamity.

If you will pray, you will see God's glory! Reading from Genesis 49:17, congregants were led in prophetic prayer to destroy the venomous viper that bites the horse on which we ride.

Finally, he made seven prophetic declarations concerning the remaining 52 days of 2017 viz.:

# God will take you somewhere you have never been to.

# God will send a man into your life who will take you to the next level.

# All the money you need for your assignment is delivered to you.

# If anyone is looking for somebody to bless it will be you.

# God will give you one dream to change your life.

# Anyone who takes your name or photograph anywhere to kill you will die in your place.

# Wherever you are, God will send you an angel to locate you; just as Pharaoh sent for Joseph through the butler.

'Twas a night of FIRE for FIRE!
