Highlights of GLIC Clergy Prayer Meeting Held on 22nd June, 2017

Some years back in Gospel Light, some people were ordained as deacons and deaconesses. After their ordination, it was obvious that they were not fulfilling their calling. They were thus reproved. However, one of the deaconesses passed a comment in ignorance, saying, "I did not ask to be ordained as a deaconess. I was 'at my somewhere' and they 'made me' a deaconess." How sad!

Do you sometimes wrestle with thoughts about your ordination and calling? This message by Apostle Dodoo-Amoo will soothe your soul and bring clarity into your heart concerning your purpose as an ordained worker in the house of God.

The man of God began, "This meeting is the Bishop's meeting. When the meeting is the Bishop's we need to honour it. It's as though God has called us to the meeting. We should attach seriousness to it."

Reading from John 1:6-7, the man of God enunciated that it always takes one person to make a difference. "You are that person!" he declared.

Under a strong unction of the Holy Spirit, he prophesied, "May you fulfil your calling and your purpose in Gospel Light."

He posed a highly relevant question: What is your purpose? Why did Bishop Matthew Addae-Mensah ordain you?

He pointed out that sometimes we take for granted the oil that is upon us.

The man of God showed leaders present that it was not by accident that we were chosen. God, before you were born, had already called you and ordained you. Bishop was only an instrument to bring that to pass.

He admonished the clergy present not to take their calling for granted. "There is a purpose to it and you must find that purpose if you don't know it," he said.

He declared, "May the yearning and the burning push you into your calling, push you into your destiny..."

Apostle Dodoo-Amoo also read from Acts 13:1-2, where the Lord set apart Saul and Barnabas for His work. He indicated that these men were already called yet they waited on the Lord.

"There is another level, a higher place, a greater ground that the Lord wants to take you, your branch...there is greater territory to cover," he pronounced upon the eager clergy.

He declared, "God can use you to create a revolution in your community. God can raise presidents under your ministry."

With much earnestness, he asked the clergy gathered certain important questions:

# What do you cry about in prayer?

# What do you hunger for?

#What do you desire?

He charged the young men to get together and pray and fast. He urged them to seek God in prayer, for the manifestation of the power of God, for the Voice of God to be heard, just like in the early Church when the place they were gathered shook.

He further urged the young people in the meeting to gather to minister unto the Lord.

He recounted some of his exploits as a young man when they used to go to villages to preach the Gospel.

He said, "Young men, I want to challenge you tonight that Bishop didn't call you by accident...your Apostle did not nominate you by accident...from your mother's womb God had appointed you to be a prophet to the nations."

After such a glorious time of impartation through the Word of God, we zoomed into an immensely blessed session of prayer.

The following are the prayer topics that were touched on:

# Based on 1 Timothy 2:1-4, we prayed for the leadership of our dear nation Ghana. That evil thrones that have been set up behind authorities of the nation should be subdued. That the Lord should grant Ministers of State and other leaders wisdom and that they will be ambidextrous in administering their duties.

# Economic power belongs to the Church. We are like Goshen. Pray that the Church will be empowered and we will be led by men and women who are sent from God. That they will hear from God as priests. The prayer of the saints preserves the world.

# Based Revelation 1:17-19, pray for the Bishop, his family and household. Ask that the anointing shall not cease to flow. That the Voice of God will always be relevant. That God's message in our Bishop shall be consistent, fresh, and powerful. Remember that every Church God raises has a purpose. Every one of God's Generals is given a purpose. One day, each of us will give an account to the Master. That is why we should pray. Prayer must be mounted unceasingly for the Bishop, his family and his household.

The Bible says that Moses was faithful in all of God's House. Pray that Bishop will run the race victoriously and triumphantly. Pray that he will grow and wax strong and when he is 120, he will look back and be glad.

# Pray for the leadership of Gospel Light- the supervising Apostles, pastors and ministers. Pray that the leadership of the church will line up with the vision. Pray that the Spirit of God will bring about consistency in leaders.

# The Church is made up of families. The pastor cares for the Church as a steward. Pray for the resident pastors that they will receive grace. That the Lord will be their Helper. That the anointing will be upon them to be extraordinary and supernatural. That they will be fully equipped spiritually. That the Lord will convert limitations into direction, ability, creativity and innovation.

Pray for matrimonial peace in the homes of the resident pastors wherever they may be in the country.

# Pray for deeper spirituality for your sheep. Pray Ephesians 1:17-23, Philippians 1:9-11, and Colossians 1:9-11. These prayers develop sheep that are passionate about soul winning, who are spiritual and are willing to invest into the Gospel even when they don't have enough for themselves.

"It comes from within," Apostle Dodoo-Amoo emphasized.

The prayer session ended with a closing prayer offered by Apostle Nana Yiadom-Boakye.

The following divine instructions should be strictly adhered to as the Bishop has sent them to us:

As we enter into the 7th month of the year of Great Power and Great Grace, follow through with these instructions:

1. God blessed the 7th day (Genesis 2:3). The 7th day of the 7th month comes with special blessings as the number 7 symbolizes perfection.

2. The 1st day of the 7th month shall be a special prayer day for all Gospel Light churches globally (Numbers 29:32). There will be prayer with blowing of horns. Come along with 7 covenant offerings (your offerings should be in multiples of 7 e.g. GHS 7,000, GHS 700, GHS 70, GHS 7).

3. On 10th July, all members shall fast (Numbers 29:7).

4. On 15th July, all members shall bring their food to Church to break their fast (Numbers 29:12). We shall circle around and pray and blow the trumpet (Joshua 6:4).
