Principle #3

Really have faith in God

To have Church Growth, one should really have faith in God. Circumstances are constantly changing and many many difficulties arise while you promote Church Growth. And if we will ever stand up on our five senses then every day, our hearts will be changed.

You should not be vacillating because of the circumstances or logical thinking. We must stand on the Word of God and trust God. If we change according to the volatile circumstances, then there'll be no Church Growth.

When I was building my present Church which seats 12,000 people; at that time I was building a Church which seats 7,000 people and economically it was very hard. Then, we had the 6-day war in the Middle East and there was oil shortage, factories closed down, banks closed down and I could not get any loan.

I was really hitting the rock-bottom of my life. People were leaving the Church; they were losing their jobs and many many people came to me and advised me to give up on my dream. They said, "You will never succeed, you will fail."

And when I looked, I saw all of those difficulties. When I listened, I heard all of those advice to abandon the project and when I thought logically I could not calculate the situation.

I was in a terrible place but in my heart, I believed God and I knew that God was greater than all of the volatile situations. So I was unmoved; I was persistent in my faith.

Then God performed miracle after miracle and we could build a Church which seated 10,000 people. So when you try to have God's work done then the enemy will attack. Thus, you need tremendous determination to stay in faith.

Many of you would say, "I don't feel that I have faith."

You see, people have a misunderstanding of faith; people feel that to have faith, they should feel some kind of warm sensation going through their backbone or they should feel some trembling.

But faith is not emotion; faith is your determination.

Faith is choice rather than your feeling. You choose to believe. And if you choose not to believe then you are an unbeliever. But if you choose to believe then you're a believer.

It's a determination up in your heart not your feeling. Even though you don't feel anything, if you could determine in your heart to trust God then you have faith and since you have the right to choose that's the reason Jesus Christ, many a time, would rebuke those who would not choose to believe.

"Why don't you believe? Why did you doubt?" Jesus reprimanded. If they had no power to believe then Christ Jesus would never reprimand them. You should decide to believe.

All through these 44 years of having Church growth in my ministry, even though I could not feel anything, even though I could not see anything I was determined to believe in God. Then God always worked together with me.

The Bible says it shall be done unto you according to your faith. Nothing shall be impossible to them that believe.

Believing is very important in Church growth. We should believe that God is going to give Church growth.

And then we must have strong faith that is unmoved. Then God's Holy Spirit moves in and miracles are created.
