The Anointing for Living

From 2010 to 2012, a certain great Pastor experienced some greatly difficult moments in his life that brought forth undeniably extraordinary revelation in his life. Over 15 years after that refining experience, he says, "God sometimes takes you off the mountain top and puts you in the valley so you can learn...you really cannot learn these things in school; only the Holy Spirit will reveal them to you."

I wouldn't go into the details of what the difficult situation was but Pastor Benny Hinn truly enlightened us by the Spirit on the first night of the Special Ministers' Conference in Ghana. According to him, it was during that difficult time in his life that he discovered the things you're about to read. It's so humbling that we can learn from over 40 years of ministry condensed into these few words. Get ready to be lifted and transported to a higher realm of glory and the anointing as you receive these words into you; most of what you'll read here are direct statements from the man of God. If you were not present at the meeting, this is your moment to receive the ministration of the Spirit. Get ready!

Jesus said that, "...out of your innermost being shall flow RIVERS of living water..."

We do not know how many rivers He was talking about.

There are differences in the anointing.

The anointing on your office (to do the work of ministry) has got nothing to do with the anointing in your life.

Your body is the Temple of One Spirit, the Holy Spirit.

You are a spirit. You're not a soul and you're not a body.

You live in a body and you have a spirit.

Now, when God talks about YOU, He's talking about your spirit.

The man of God said, "Your spirit, before salvation, was dead unto God. It was not dead; otherwise, you could not live. Rather, it was dead UNTO GOD. Your spirit could not know God, serve God, nor love God. It was polluted with sin. The Person of the Holy Spirit came and mingled with your spirit and you became One. At that moment, there was perfection, life, renewal, regeneration. Cleansing is the result." (See 1 Corinthians 6:17)

You cannot separate your spirit from the Holy Spirit. The moment you were joined, there was an explosion; that's the Anointing. That's got nothing to do with your office.

Your spirit is hid with the Lord.

Now, the moment the union took place, a force was released which produced;

1) Hunger

Hunger is the sign of life.

2) Faith

An inner knowing; you know, "I belong to Him" "He loves me" "Heaven is my home"

That faith has nothing to do with the gift of faith.

3) A desire to know Him, walk with Him, love Him, and to serve Him.

Pastor Benny quipped, "You cannot prove to love your wife if you ignore her."

The river that flows from this union is 1 John 2:27:

"But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him."

This is the anointing for living not for doing. This is an anointing that affects only your spirit. It does not affect your soul or your body, only your spirit.

Now, notice that Acts 1:8 also speaks of the anointing:

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

The anointing of Acts 1:8 is purely for service and ministry. It's a gift. It's for those who prove themselves faithful. Not every Christian has the Acts 1:8 anointing.

Look carefully at 1 John 2:27 again. It says, "...the anointing which you have received OF HIM..." not "FROM HIM" as seen in 1 John 2:20:

"But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things."

Take careful note of that.

You see, Jesus IS!

The anointing of 1 John 2:27 is the Anointing that He is. Observe the following:

1 John 2:20 is "FROM HIM"

Acts 1:8 is "FROM HIM"

...but 1 John 2:27 is "OF HIM"

God does not have life; He is life!

God does not have power; He is power!

God does not live in eternity; He is eternity!

The Anointing is a Person (1 John 2:27).

1 John 2:27 affects only my spirit.

Acts 1:8 affects my soul and my body. It comes on your soul and is emotional. It affects your decision-making and intellect. It causes you to feel heat, electricity and trembling.

Note that Acts 1:8 does not abide, it does not protect you but it can be imparted.

1 John 2:27 cannot be imparted. It does not leave; it abides. It's for revelation and protection from deception.

Did you know...that it is possible to have a gift and be demon-oppressed? Why? You may have the anointing on your office and have a devil or be involved in witchcraft. Look at Balaam. This is because the anointing on your office works in your soul and in your body.

It is possible to be anointed for your office but be rejected. You can even use it as a weapon against God Himself. Look at Saul.

Remember the words of Jesus, "Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your Name...and I will tell you 'I know you not. Depart from me ye workers of iniquity.'"

Acts 1:8 is not what will get you to heaven.

If sin gets into your heart, the Holy Spirit will withdraw and your faith will decrease. Faith is a Person. His Name is Jesus. He gives you the witness that you are a child of God.

The anointing on your office will not leave you even if the Lord withdraws.

The gifts of the Spirit are upon your office under the river of Acts 1:8, which God gives us as we prove ourselves faithful.

Not all the Old Testament saints were filled with the Spirit. Very few of them received the 1 John 2:27 anointing by the Sovereignty of God. Moses was filled with the Spirit when He saw the cross (see Hebrews 11).

Never forget this: Jesus was first crucified in the heart of the Father. He was crucified before the foundation of the world. God bought you before Adam sold you. God forgave you before the foundation of the world.

David was forgiven because God had chosen him. Saul was rejected because he was the people's choice, not God's choice.

Saul was anointed with a vial (representing judgment) but David was anointed with a horn. In other words, the anointing Saul received was an anointing of judgment.

Also realize that the king was supposed to come from the tribe of Judah not the tribe of Benjamin, where Saul came from.

There are those God has chosen to be his. You are predestined to work with God.

The anointing came in John 20, when Jesus breathed into the Ten and said, "Receive ye the Holy Ghost." That's the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20; Philippians 2:13).

Acts 1:8 works through us.

1 John 2:27 works in me; Acts 1:8 flows through me.

1 John 2:27 is for manifestation, revelation and transformation, that I might know Him.

On the other hand, Acts 1:8 is for demonstration.

Every Christian has the anointing of 1 John 2:27.

We need the anointing of Acts 1:8 as long as it is not polluted. When the Holy Spirit pulls away, hunger reduces.

Rebellion causes Him to withdraw and eventually we're cut off. If He cuts us off, He is not using us, the gift (which is polluted) starts using us. That's when they start selling it.

If the Lord is there, it's not for sale. The minute it's for sale, it's because the Lord is not there.

The anointing for your office is priceless.

You can impart the gift of the Holy Spirit but not the Holy Spirit.

We have the ability to impart the power. We cannot impart salvation, because salvation is a person.

The following are very vital; you've got to catch them:

> Hunger and faith ignite the Word.

> The Word ignites communion.

> Communion ignites worship.

Dunamis ignites itself.

The power that raised Jesus from the dead is not Acts 1:8. That power ignites in you and your spirit experiences the abundance of the Spirit. The Word gets real deep and you get into deeper layers.

Here are four layers of the Word:

1st layer- Historical

2nd layer- The plan of God for Israel

3rd layer- Discover Jesus in the Old Testament. When you discover Jesus there, it ignites in you.

4th layer- See Jesus in the genealogies of the Word and the Old Testament.

Study Genesis 5; there is something so precious there which reveals Jesus from the genealogy there of the first ten names.

Have a look:

Adam- Man

Seth- Appoint

Enos- Mortal

Canaan- Sorrow

Mahalalel- Blessed God

Jared- Will come down

Enoch- To declare

Methuselah- His death will bring

Lamech- despair

Noah- Rest

Now let's put the meanings of the names together and see what we get:

"Man appointed mortal sorrow. Blessed God will come down to declare. His death will bring despairing rest."

Did you see that? It tells the story of the Messiah, Jesus! Glory!

Same thing, when you study the names of the sons of Jacob, they reveal Jesus.

When the anointing ignites, it makes the Ephesians 1 blessings real in your life! There is growth and renewal.

Humans have three minds:

# The mind of the Spirit (for the manifestation of Christ)

# The intellect (in the soul)

# The brain

1 John 2:27 stills the soul.

Acts 1:8 stirs the soul.

1 John 2:27 manifests the Lord.

When the anointing ignites like that, you get to 'exceedingly abundant above all you ask or think'.

If you go any deeper, it will disconnect you from the body and the soul. Your body will stop growing. The body will be on pause. That's what happened to Moses. No sleep and no food.

Pastor Benny said, "When eternity walks in, time walks out!"

When we're in the Presence of eternity, our body is on pause.

Your body cannot grow in the Presence of glory!

Note that Acts 1:8 is not dependent on your hunger but on the people's hunger!

You need the anointing of 1 John 2:27 to carry that anointing of Acts 1:8.

Think of Acts 1:8 as a basket and 1 John 2:27 as the foundation.

1 John 2:27 is not dependent on the atmosphere.

Miracles cannot take place in the wrong atmosphere. Acts 1:8 is dependent on those who sit in the front row.

Acts 1:8 does not work in resistance. We can transfer it and it has many levels.

O, what a night it was!

After Pastor Benny's glorious ministration, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams released the anointing upon all ministers present! Bishop Dag Heward-Mills also prayed for Ghana and Sinach ministered "I know who I am"

Pastor Chris declared, "I see that the Lord is doing something special in Ghana. He begins by inspiring His love and unity among His people."

Gloryyyyyy!!!
