One day in the city of Tulsa, all the residents of the city gathered in one place for a glorious meeting. Thousands were in attendance as Pastor Benny Hinn began to minister. As they were worshipping, the glory of the Lord filled the arena. Kenneth Copeland, Gloria Copeland and other seasoned Generals of our time were on the platform. They were all on their knees, worshipping the Lord. Pastor Benny was amazed when he saw Kenneth Copeland on his knees so he went close to him and asked, "What's going on, Kenneth?" Kenneth Copeland was weeping. Do you know what he asked Pastor Benny? "How do surrender so easily? Lay your hands on me so I can also surrender as easily as you do."
But you know, surrender is something that can neither be taught nor imparted by the laying on of hands. Nobody can teach you how to surrender to the Lord. You just have to let go and let God!
There was a Muslim family which had a young lady in their home who was grieveously tormented by thousands of demons like that of the mad man of Gadara. The family had called for the Imam, the Rabbi and so many others, but nothing happened.
They finally decided, our of despair, to go over to a certain preacher, whom they constantly mocked and made fun of. Their house was on a hill in Bethlehem. As the preacher got ready to go to the house, far away in the house, the demons were frightened and cried aloud, "The Christians are coming. The Christians are coming." The lady was completely delivered when the preacher got in there and ministered to her.
Another time, there was a lady in a certain Church who had been constantly tormented by demons. She had been prayed for severally. One day, she picked up the phone to call Pastor Benny. The moment Pastor Benny answered the call and said "Hello", the lady shouted, "They're gone. They're gone!" The demons fled at the sound of a "Hello" from the man of God's voice!
Glory!
These and many other anecdotes were related as Pastor Benny shared a deeply stirring message on the anointing of Acts 1:8 on the second night Special Ministers' Conference in Ghana.
But before Pastor Benny began, Pastor Chris introduced him by firstly sharing briefly that fellowship with the Holy Spirit is highly imperative for every Christian. He said, "The most important thing in your life is your fellowship with the Holy Spirit...never forget it."
He continued, "The real essence of the Gospel is fellowship with God. That's the purpose of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The sole purpose of the Gospel is in one word: FELLOWSHIP, and it is made possible through the Holy Spirit."
He admonished ministers and pastors present to light up their fellowship and it will answer all of life's problems and all your questions ever.
He also charged us to get our spirits alert to the Ministry of the Spirit.
The man of God, Pastor Benny Hinn then received the microphone to teach on the anointing of the Holy Spirit in Acts 1:8 and how to tap into it.
He prophesied, "There is a new anointing coming on your ministry!"
Still on the words of Jesus in John 7:38, he noted that your innermost being is your spirit.
The spirit of man is complete once you're born again. All the promises of God are tangible.
When you were born again, your spirit disappeared in him.
Your spirit was your tent but now it is His Temple.
The soul is your personality. My soul expresses who I am. The soul and the spirit are eternal.
Now, the blood that flowed through Adam's veins came through the breath of God. Realize that God does not look like you; you look like Him.
Angels do not have a soul. You are more expensive than all the angels in heaven. Angels have no capacity to know God because they are not filled with the Holy Spirit. How do angels know God?
"They know God by watching the way God deals with you," he enunciated. (Ephesians 3:10)
God uses the Church to school angels.
He went on, "The unbeliever has one breath; the believer has two. There is coming a third breath."
The first breath came when God breathed into Adam's nostrils the breath of life; the second came when Jesus breathed into the disciples after His resurrection.
Every human has God's image but not everyone has his likeness. When God spoke likeness, he spoke the Church into existence. When He said likeness, He set us apart. We can now receive revelation (1 Corinthians 2:12).
The angels cry "Holy. Holy. Holy." in response to how the Lord deals with us.
You are PRICELESS!
"It cost God nothing to create the world but it cost Him everything to save you!" the man of God said.
The anointing belongs to you. The Bible says all things are yours! All is yours, including God Himself!
You are very expensive.
He said, "You are more expensive than all the art in the Vatican...the poorest man who has Jesus is richer than the richest man in the world without Jesus."
The anointing belongs only to you.
The Prophets had to say, "Thus saith the Lord...." Jesus said, "Verily, verily, I say unto you...." We say, "In the Name of Jesus...." and we bring Him on the scene! Glory!
Pastor Benny declared, "He speaks your name in heaven and you speak His Name on earth."
He defined the Anointing as, "The overflow of Jesus' Life."
The power at work in us is the Lord Himself. Jesus is the Presence. The Presence is known, not felt.
The power for service is felt.
When you were saved, John 14:16 took place.
He emphasized, "The Holy Spirit is Jesus without limit, because Jesus in the flesh was limited...He was limited to be at one place at a time...the Holy Spirit has made Jesus more real to you than to those who saw Him in the flesh 2000 years ago."
As he ministered, the anointing coursed through the entire LoveWorld Arena. He began to sing, "It's not by eloquence nor by talent that the Lord's work is done."
Once you walk with God, then you're ready for another river (of the anointing) which is the power for Service. Now, you're in control.
God gives the second river in different rivers reluctantly, as we prove ourselves faithful.
The 1 John 2:27 anointing is complete.
The Acts 1:8 anointing is given in three dimensions, for demonstration.
The Acts 1:8 anointing is veeery costly and if used wrongly can be deadly; it can be polluted if permitted, if you stop living the Christian life. Demons cannot possess your spirit but can oppress your soul or body. If your life in the spirit is strong, it will drive away the demonic from your soul and body.
Your spirit cup must overflow into your soul and your body.
Work it out through the Word, communion and worship. Then Jesus will be seen in your eyes. It affects your decision-making, behaviour and emotions.
In order to siphon the Acts 1:8 anointing, you must SURRENDER.
You cannot receive it if you are not in the high place. Study Deuteronomy 32:13 carefully:
"He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;"
When you worship, your spirit goes to a high place. When the Presence of Jesus is reality, your spirit will be still.
In the Presence of the Lord, tears are the language.
When you lose sight of yourself, that's when you can siphon the anointing. God's Presence will cancel out your presence.
As long as you see yourself, you cannot siphon it.
Surrender is not taught. You cannot surrender unless you are a child.
Empty yourself of your self.
"You cannot surrender if you're too highly educated," he quipped.
You cannot do it; only God can do it. Don't try to figure it out.
When you surrender, you siphon the anointing.
He said, "A lot of ministers are anointed; they just don't know how to siphon."
You cannot receive the anointing while you're alone.
1 John 2:27 is personal.
However, Acts 1:8 happens when you are in the company of the saints as seen in the progression from John 20, Acts 2 and Acts 4.
You must be connected.
God gives the anointing in three levels.
Every anointing God gives you is for war.
God does not anoint cowards; He anoints warriors.
It requires faithfulness to God.
Learn to plough by interceding.
The third mantle requires a test- faith.
Gilgal is faith.
You cannot receive unless you live by faith.
Bethel is sacrifice.
It is the place of total death.
God will use you because He trusts you.
It is said that Kathryn Kuhlman died 1000 deaths.
God cannot use you unless you die.
Deny yourself and take up your cross.
God cannot use you unless you die to yourself.
A mighty revival is about to hit Ghana.
When everything flows out of your innermost being that's when both anointings merge.
It was truly an awesome session of enlightenment, revelation and impartation of the anointing!
Pastor Chris also received the microphone to minister to some infirmed ministers present and they went under the power, being healed instantly.
He called for young people in ministry in their 20s and ministered a special grace specially to them. What an impartation it was!
He said, "Have no fear. The future of ministry in Ghana is looking at you. Take all of it. Do mighty things. A special grace has been given to you. God is giving you more grace. You will take the work of God to another level. Stay in fellowship with the Holy Spirit and you cannot falter. God wants you to be a success. Speak frequently in tongues.
Give time to prayer and studying the Scriptures. Fill your heart and your mind with the Word of God. Be rich with the Word of God. Be full of prayer."
