Time with Agbesi a.k.a. #D'Bee
It's one thing to know about a subject and share on it but it's a completely different thing to be practically living it and sharing it. One who epitomizes the love of God, Agbesi Amenyo, shared an insightful message on 'True Christian Identity' at the 19th February, 2017 Sunday Service of the University of Ghana Campus Ministry of Gospel Light International Church.
The following is an update of the 7 ways to show your true Christian nature:
1. Acknowledge and accept that you're created in God's image of pure and perfect love.
Adam and Eve were more prone to easily hear the Voice of God. Satan made Eve doubt God's Voice.
Depression comes about when we idolize other thoughts other than God's love or thoughts. Anything you out above God cannot satisfy you.
Most things are good until we blow them out of proportion. A typical example is sex; God designed it to be enjoyed within the confines of marriage.
2. Fill your thoughts with God's Words by hearing from Him daily through your quiet times.
Reading from Colossians 3:1-2, Agbesi admonished, "Think about the things of heaven. Your soul determines your emotions."
He went on to hint that God is really concerned about our sexual purity.
Don't let life dictate to you how you should be living. All things on an earthly level should be beneath your feet. Live in the reality of your heavenly status.
Be in agreement with Somebody higher that you are; Jesus!
Don't think as a mere human being.
3. Trust God's ability to lead you more than Satan's ability to deceive you.
Trust God to lead you to the right places. Get rid of addictions by giving your attention to Jesus more than the fear of going back to it. Fear of something makes it easier for it to happen to you.
Focus on Jesus more and on your problems less.
4. Know that Jesus has empowered you to live like Him.
We discovered from John 8:12 and Matthew 5:14 that Jesus is the light of the world and we also are the light of the world.
The man of God said, "Renewal of your mind will bring a change. The greatest form of evangelism is in the way you live."
The way you live your life should be a total reflection of who Jesus is.
Get the Word into you consistently and put it to work. You will see that gradually, the change you desire will show up.
5. Recognize that God forgot about your past and so should you.
2 Corinthians 5:16-17 shows us that we are new creations in Christ and Hebrews 8:12 assures us that God remembers our sins no more.
Agbesi said, "You don't have a past, because you are a new person."
There's nothing you can do that will make God love you more.
Even before you were born again, He loved you.
His love for you is constant.
6. Be all about God so that God can be all about you.
Reading from Matthew 6:33, the man of God said, "If you're concerned about the Father's business, He'll be concerned about you. Let God's business be your priority."
7. Don't allow life to speak louder to you than the Giver and Author of Life.
