1. Fellowship with the Father and the Son through the Holy Spirit.
1 John 1:3
We have fellowship with the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit by;
a. Praying, especially praying in the Spirit.
The Apostles ministered to the Lord in prayer and fasting, worshipping the Lord; and the Lord ministered to them (Acts 13:2).
b. Meditation on the Word of God.
The Word of God teaches us. The Scriptures become God's Voice to us.
Notice the following:
The spoken Word became the living Word. The living Word left us the written Word.
Now, the written Word becomes living when the Holy Spirit breathes upon it in us.
Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors. (Psalm 119:24)
God's testimony is His witness. It is His declaration, His proclamation and His record!
You see, God wants us to be like Him through His Word.
My son, give me thine heart, and let thine eyes observe my ways. (Proverbs 23:26)
When you study the Word, you receive wisdom; that's where the strength, victory and faithfulness of God is.
2. Fellowship with one another through the Church.
We are members of the Church which is the Body of Christ and Jesus is the Head of this Body.
Now, every congregation is a microcosm of the Church of Jesus Christ.
And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: (Hebrews 10:24)
Don't skip the meetings.
Consider how you can inspire your brethren to love and good works so that they don't stray.
There are some in the Church that the Father is not pleased with (Hebrews 10:25).
When we meet to fellowship, we exhort one another; we do not condemn one another (1 Corinthians 14:12, 26).
Fellowship is God's design to help you to grow.
God wants His gifts deposited in us to come forth through the uniqueness of our personality.
Find God's plan and follow it; don't create your own.
3. Fellowship with those the Lord has specially brought into your life (spouse, children, friends, partners and co-labourers in the Lord).
Learn to recognize them.
Then the spirit came upon Amasai, who was chief of the captains, and he said , Thine are we , David, and on thy side, thou son of Jesse: peace, peace be unto thee, and peace be to thine helpers; for thy God helpeth thee. Then David received them, and made them captains of the band. (1 Chronicles 12:18)
The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it. (Psalm 68:11)
