We amplify God's Voice when we preach the Gospel! |
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:19-20
Why is Easter such an important event all over the world? Each year, both Christians and non-Christians partake of this wonderful celebration. It is very vital to know why we celebrate such a glorious event. In fact, Easter has a very strong correlation with the Jewish Passover celebration. It was during that period that Jesus was offered up as the ransom for the sins of entire world as the Passover Lamb (John 19:14-33). Easter, therefore, is a celebration that Christians use to commemorate the death, resurrection and ascension of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is worthy to note that our faith proves futile, and we would be practising just another religion if there is no resurrection: Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. (1 Corinthians 15:12-14)
It is because of sinners that Jesus Christ came into this world; to redeem them from sin: ... the Son of man came... to give his life a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). He came to give His life to the world (John 10:10).
Now that we have received this life, it's time for us to proclaim this message to the peoples of the world.
Every believer is called of God into the Ministry. Our Ministry is to the world- it is a Ministry of life to those who have not heard the Gospel: And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18,19).
Jesus, after His death and resurrection, gave the charge in our theme Scripture to His disciples; to tell people of the world the message of Reconciliation. When He said, '..teach all nations..' Jesus did not necessarily mean you should pack your bags and travel all over the world; preaching the Gospel. The Greek word that is translated 'world' in that verse is 'ethnos' It represents your habitat, or place of residence. Jesus was essentially talking about your sphere of contact. Who are those people you meet every day? Have they all heard the Gospel? You are the one placed there by God to effect that change; to preach the Gospel to them and make Jesus known to them; that they may be saved.
The greatest gift you can give to any man is eternal life, and that is what Jesus has given to us. The world will never be able to receive this eternal life if we do not proclaim to them that Jesus Christ died to pay for all their sins, and was raised from the dead for their justification. If you are wondering where to start from, I urge you to start from right where you are- do not hesitate. You are just the right person chosen to tell them.
Wherever you get to, the first thing you should think about is to make an impact with this Gospel. Tell others about Jesus. Never be ashamed to do so (Romans 1:16)!
Make this Easter a memorable one by telling someone about the love of Christ. Remember, He's the reason for the season!
