Family Affairs II

God loved the people of this world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have eternal life and never really die.
John 3:16, CEV

In Part I of this article, we talked about the fact that God traded His only begotten Son in order to have a family- us.
Whereas John 3:16 says 'only begotten Son,' Revelation 1:5 says 'first begotten of the dead.' In other words, by way of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection, all those who believe in the sacrifice He made become members of this Royal Family. Why is it important to recognise this? So that we can function effectively in the earth. A man who lacks knowledge of his identity is never able to express the traits of his home.
Now Jesus is our Big Brother. Hebrews 2:11 says, 'For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,' Did you see that: Jesus is not ashamed to call you His brother. If this is so, then why should you be worried when you are rejected and disdained by other folks?
Even though Jesus is our brother, it is very important for us to recognise His place ad significance in our lives as well as in the Family:
'And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.' (Colossians 1:18)
We are the Church, which is His Body, and He is the Head of us all. In other words, without Him, there is no progress; and without us there is no progress. That's why your contribution to the Work of the Ministry counts greatly. Every member of the Body of Christ plays a huge role in making the Church stand.  Notice that he says, 'that in all things he might have preeminence.' Jesus rules in our hearts. He is the king in every 'little' detail of your life. There is nothing that he does not have a say in. Why? Because He is the Boss! Hallelujah!
